16 Convoke Affinity (2/2)

Hige didn't seem to have much interest in the passing conversation however. He decided to lean against the nearby wall instead.

Solitaire glanced off, with a grimace as she sighed briefly. ”Maybe I'm just a bit knackered. Means a lot that you're helping us, Sally. Really.”

”Hey Sol!” Miles called, running out the entrance of the inn after her.

”I just... Need to get some air.” Solitaire caught notice off the door opening, immediately hurrying off to a small nearby park, that was behind another stone fence.

Miles stopped, letting his eyes follow the pinked haired girl's path. His ears drooped downwards, as his tail slid along the gravel. ”Solitaire?...” He murmured softly, in confusion. ”...What's gotten into her?”

Hige's eyes panned over to Miles, boredly. Miles scratched his head a bit, as his gaze turned to the lady centaur, who was towering over the small feline.

”Greetings sir Miles.” Sally chimed in, which made the feline's eyes pervishly gawk to her chest.

”Uh... Hey, Sal.” Miles replied, jumping slightly, as his gaze trailed to her face.

Sally chuckled, before trotted by him briefly. Her happy expression turned serious, as she watched Solitaire sit behind a tree. ”Look yonder, to thine maiden.” She instructed, which made Miles glance Solitaire's way. ”Me thinks mi'lady beith unwell. Only so many cycles of the sun hath passed since our arrival, without entering the fray. Erstwhile, thy maiden Solitaire recently appears as if she hath been besmirched.” Sally stated, glancing back to Miles.

Miles scoffed a bit, crossing his arms. ”Well, it's all that mutt's fault if you ask me.”

Hige seemed to not believe Miles words, as he scoffed. Zyron, still upstairs in the Inn room; was adjusting his fluffy poncho, after getting his clothes situated. He had been peering out the window uneasily, but turned off from it. ”... Fuck...”

Sally turned back to Miles, stepping before him. ”That may be so, but what is past is paralogue. Prey tell, douth thou and thine lady need mine aid further? Perchance this mare can thwart any troubles, to quell thee tensions, before trekking forth to whence the order hath summoned her presence?”

”I wouldn't object to that. Stick around as long as you like.” Miles chuckled, with a perverted smirk.

Before Sally could reply, Zyron had already walked up. He pushed Miles with him towards Solitaire, with his still bandaged hands. ”Excuse us, but we really should get our master, and be on our way. No need to involve yourself. Thanks, I mean it.” Zyron stated, in a rude sarcastic tone to the centaur.

”Well, if thou... insists?.. Trek carefully..?” Sally was completely taken by surprise. Hige however, didn't seem to really care either way.

”Hey! What's the big idea, dog!?” Miles lashed out, flailing slightly. ”Can't you see I was in the middle of something!?”

”Okay. Just. What the hell is your problem!? We don't need shit from the fucking templar! Are you stupid or something? What do you think we are?!” Zyron scoffed, which caused Miles to settle down, like an animal put in their place. Zyron closed his eyes, as they continued forward. ”Let's just get one thing straight, I don't give a damn how fucking horny you are, I don't want to get involved with crap like this!” Zyron grunted, as they walked along the stone fence, nearing nearing the tree where Solitaire sat.

”If you don't wanna get involved, and seeing you're already able to walk with those injuries, then just leave. With your track record, you're bound to jump ship like before anyway. So go!” Miles turned up his nose, as he crossed his arms with a groan.

Zyron narrowed his eyes, in annoyance, as he growled softly. ”Pretty fucking obvious you want me gone. Look, I don't give a rat's ass about you either, but right now I want to get as far away from the fucking templar as I damn well can. So shut the fuck up, and keep moving, you ass!” He seemed stressed, as he pushed Miles ahead.

Miles stumbled forward a bit, glancing back. ”Sheesh, touchy. You're just a bundle of sunshine and daisies, aren't you? Fine, I'm going. Freak'n mutt.” Miles retorted, sarcastically, before walking through an open gate, over to Solitaire.

Zyron looked off hesitantly, he fidgeted with his bandaged hands briefly. There was some blood seeping from the other end. ”(Crap... I need more time to recover... Guess I don't have any other choice.)” He thought, glancing up.

Solitaire's bangs covered over her eyes, as she remained seated. She let out a soft scoff, keeping her position. ”I swear, you daft twits are nothing but arseholes. Mangy buggers, who can't stop fighting for even a second. Rubbish that is. Innit?” She had a very subtle smirk.

”Hey I'm sorry, okay Sol?” Miles spoke up. His ears were back, as his gaze focused on the pinked haired morphious.

Solitaire peered up from her spot, rubbing her knuckle under her nose. She had a grumpy glare poised on her face, aimed at both of them. However, that smirk was still visible. Zyron glanced over, with an unsure expression. Solitaire placed her hands to her knees, getting up to her feet.

Her eyes caught notice of Zyron's hands however. ”Don't tell me you opened that wound already. Now I need to bodge it up again. Give it here.” She said, quickly taking his hand.

Zyron pulled it away, uneasily. ”Thanks for saving me back there.... but I'll be fine.”

She didn't seem to believe him, but let out a sigh. ”If you say so, mate. Well, if you're feeling better, then maybe we should head back to Wynorex. That thing from before might be gone now.” She said walking ahead.

”Yeah. Maybe Nye will be back too.” Miles agreed, following Solitaire.

She glanced back to Zyron, briefly. ”Coming along too, Ronnie?”

He paused, standing there for a second. ”What? Don't think I'm following you, or anything. This is just the quickest way out of this city. Besides, I'd have a bad conscious if I didn't thank you. Like your cat said, I'm just gonna bail when I get the chance to anyway.” Zyron stated in an almost sarcastic tone, giving Miles a quick glare, as he followed after the two. His tail was slightly wagging.

Miles crossed his arms, with a disapproving glare, sparking back at Zyron. Solitaire chuckled a bit at the two, continuing ahead. ”Geehee. Then I suppose it's only my imagination, that your tail's wagging?”

”Huh!? IT IS NOT!” Zyron retorted, in complete denial. He was blushing from embarrassment.

”Geehee!” Solitaire giggled, in amusement.

”It's not funny!” Zyron growled, as the three traveled out of Possebiggo city...

Meanwhile, around the Knothole sanctum. The bottom level seemed busy with various Amygdala and Fiend patrons enjoying themselves. Runfaust was handling the bar tending as usual, while his daughter Molliana was working as a waitress for the moment. However, Runfaust didn't let his gaze trail off too far from the upper floor. Leaning forward against the railing, Jack was having a cold glass of whisky. He set it down, as he pushed his bangs out of his face, with an annoyed expression. The surrounding area around Jack was vacant, as many tried to avoid his company.

Approaching from behind him, leather boots came up the creaky stairs, and onto the floorboard. ”I had a feeling I'd eventually find you back here.” Called a male voice, as he approached the railing.

Jack peered over, to see Shane standing there, with that crooked grin of his. ”Long time no see, Shane.” He said, with a smirk.

Shane leaned to the railing too, taking Jack's drink. ”Guess the doc fixed up your arm pretty well then. Those templar are losing their shit out there.” Chuckled Shane. ”I nearly didn't recognize you with that hair cut.”

Jack glanced over briefly, with a bored expression. ”Don't remind me... It's too short. I hate it.” Jack scoffed a bit, as he fidgeted with his dark mop of hair.

”Eh, it ain't that bad. Ya'know Jackyn, you really should take it easier on my contacts. Heard some nasty rumor you tried to kill Finch after he sewed you up.” Shane teased.

”The guy pissed me off, can you really blame me?” Jack muttered.

”Hey, I've got my rabbit snooping around in Templar business, trying to make it easier on you out here, ever since you escaped the Pit. So, I'm getting all sorts of inside information. You can at least try to play nice.” Shane pouted, jokingly.

”Hmph. Whatever. I have more audacious things to worry about right now anyway.” Jack shrugged, leaning to his palm.

He stared boredly to Shane as the smuggler drank the remainder of his drink. Shane set it down, looking back at him. ”Sorry, was that yours?” He teased.

Jack rolled his eyes, with a soft chuckle. ”It's gone now.”

”So, tell me about this 'audacious' thing that's plaguing the renowned 'Angel of Death'.” Shane inquired, looking intrigued.

As soon as the inquiry passed his lips, the entrance door opened. Ashewyn was holding it ajar, as Nye entered the Knothole sanctum. Jack took notice of this, seeing Molliana go to greet the Queen of Fiends. They seemed to be speaking briefly down there.

”That would be the one....” Jack groaned a bit.

”A woman? Well, now THIS I have to hear. What did you do to piss off that fox?” Shane teased, playfully.

Jack sighed, holding his palm over his face in annoyance. ”You spend more time here than I do, and you don't know who she is? That's the 'Queen of Fiends'...”

”You're kiddin'. Her?” Shane was gawking a bit.

Ashewyn glanced up, catching notice of Jack. ”Well, I guess that just leaves the others to keep an eye on.” he said which, got Nye's attention to glance up. ”So what are you gonna do now that you found goth boy?” He inquired further.

Jack lowered his hand from his face, but his glance quickly caught eye contact with Nye. Ashewyn was still standing beside her, but the gaze didn't cease. Nye was staring right up at him, and Jack back down to her. Tension was beginning to culminate between the two, before Nye said something to Ashewyn. ”Just leave Jack to me. you worry about Miles and Solitaire. Alright?”

Ashewyn shrugged, pocketing his hands. ”If you say so. Just be careful, dude could be trouble still... Hey, You sure you're gonna be alright until Finch looks your wing over?”

”I'll be fine. Just meet me back in Wynorex when you find them.” She replies, leaving Ashewyn's side, and heading to the staircase.

This caught Shane's attention, as he glanced over to Jack. ”So Jackyn, you gonna tell me or what?” Shane asked, curiously.

”....” Jack's eyes watched the stairs, anticipating Nye's movements. ”... She wants me to fight for her....”

Shane raised a brow, but turned his attention to the female Amygdala now standing across the floor from them. ”Jack.”

”Nye.” Jack kept his stern gaze.
