25 Settling Down (1/2)
Seeing the boy's sincerity James couldn't help but chuckle a bit to himself while telling him, ”It's only natural Sagar we're family after all, you have no reason to thank me for this.”
Sagar himself responded back in a somewhat awkward manner, ”Well I just felt like thanking you anyway. My mom has told me that you've looked after her a lot and also praised your character.”
James decided to help out the boy out of his predicament by changing the conversation, ”From what Beatrice mentioned in the letter she said that you were a mage but looking at you, you don't appear to be one.”
Sagar was a rather tall for his age being only a head shorter than James himself while being slightly taller than Beatrice. James could also tell that his body was well built even if his clothes didn't show so, his body was that of a warrior not a mage. Not to mention that James felt almost not mana leaking from the boy but the weirder thing was he couldn't sense any internal energy either, so he guessed that his mana was on the weaker side and Sagar trained his body to make up for it.
Beatrice's voice rang out behind, ”You would be right about your assumptions in other cases but my son here is not that simple.”
Like it was rehearsed by them Sagar started to release his mana from within himself. Usually because of his elemental fusion it was hard to tell if he even had mana with all the almighty infused internal energy covering his core but he could actively release it out if he wanted too.
Everyone in the room were slightly shocked at the fact that the power he released just now almost reached the levels of an Expert but that's all it was just slightly. They had seen some of the prodigies from other families about his age already at the Expert level, they even had one themselves but to say they were unimpressed would be lying.
They didn't know where Beatrice went for the past few years but they knew that she didn't have anything besides money when she did leave. She didn't take any resources to help train someone with her and they doubted that she could get any where she was at, so for her son to reach this level on his own was truly praiseworthy.
James feeling his mana clapped his hands in rejoice, ”Excellent, your mother said that you always trained dutifully so I held some expectations but you surpassed them my boy. Now Beatrice mentioned that you planned to join Skoll Academy. Are you sure about this? I'm sure that Beatrice has mentioned their tough entry standards.”
Sagar nodded his head and told him confidently, ”I'm more than capable to enter the academy, the entry standards won't be hard to meet.”
James gave him a hearty smile dying down the conversation, ”You look confident enough I hope you do well. Now next I would like to know what magic you're going to be specializing in if you don't mind sharing.”
Without delay Sagar responded, ”The explosion element.”
