3 Being a vampire wasnt grea (1/2)
It was early morning. The sun was yet to shine in the sky. Huang Qiuyan woke up as a vampire. She didn't feel too good about it. She looked around. She seemed to be in XX district. Last night, they couldn't run far from the train station. The vampires or humans were nowhere to be seen. She couldn't see even a mouse. She couldn't see anyone peeping from the window or the balconies. The vehicles were abandoned. The area was completely deserted.
'I can't be the last one living on this planet.'
The arrow was another unsettling part. She clicked her tongue annoyingly.
'Who shot an arrow through my heart? If you wanted to kill me, do the job thoroughly.'
She took a deep breath. She had to pull the arrow out. She curled her fingers around the arrow's tail.
'I can't possibly walk around with an arrow in my heart.'
She was scared. But she braced herself for the pain and pulled the arrow out.
Much to her surprise, she didn't feel any pain. She was relieved to see that she didn't bleed. It confirmed that she wasn't human anymore.
'What kind of person walks around with a wooden bow and an arrow these days?'
She kept the arrow as a memento. She would find the person who shot at her that arrow when she was unconscious. She would give that person the taste of their own medicines.
Her vision was sharper. Her skin was pale like the other vampire. Her sense of smell improved by ten times. She could smell a repulsive smell coming from the buildings. She smelled the gunpowder and blood, but it was quickly fading away.
Huang Qiuyan was sniffing around like a dog when she smelled a pleasant scent of ripe peaches. Her stomach rumbled loudly. She was starving. She acted on her instincts and started running following the scent of ripe peaches. The sun started to shine. Huang Qiuyan's started to itch when the sunlight poured over her skin. She stopped abruptly and scratched herself until her skin was red and full of rashes.
She climbed into one of the abandoned cars to hide from the sun. Her skin wasn't itchy anymore. The rashes started to fade away. She blinked in surprise. She realized that she could never walk into the sunlight.
'I can't be allergic to sunlight.'
She racked my brain. She read one or two vampire novels in the past. She had also watched a few vampire movies. Vampires needed human blood to survive. They became dust under the sunlight. The first information seemed to be right. But the second information was wrong. She was allergic to the sunlight, but she didn't turn into powder.
After thirty minutes, she reached a mall. She drove her straight into the mall to avoid the sunlight. The mall was in the worst state. There were blood marks on the floor. She saw some torn arms and legs. Her foot pressed on something squishy.
Huang Qiuyan almost threw up when she saw the eyeball beneath her foot. She flashed away from the spot. Her running speed and stamina was incomparable to humans. She instinctively followed the ripe scent and reached the top floor of the mall.
The top floor of the mall was the children section. The ripe scent of peaches was stronger there. She didn't realize that she was salivating. She sucked the air, filling her mouth with the scent. She could barely keep calm. She started running toward the source of the scent.
She was confused when she found a playhouse for children.
'Did someone leave a peach basket here?'
Huang Qiuyan sighed when she noticed the size of the playhouse's entrance. She decided to crawl into the playhouse. She expected to find a lot of fruit pastries. Instead, she found a chubby little bun snuggled in the corner.
Huang Qiuyan: ”....”
Chubby little bun: ”....”
The chubby little bun was pretty as a doll. She stared at Huang Qiuyan with her round purple eyes. Her black curly hair was tied into two fluffy buns. Her skin was milky and delicate. Her thick eyes lashes fluttered like butterfly wings when she blinked at her. She must be around five or six. Huang Qiuyan was dazed. She had a weakness for cute children. She even wanted to have cute children after getting married.
They stared at each other for a long time. It was Huang Qiuyan who broke the silence first.
”Hello.”
The little doll rolled her eyes. She spread her small pinkish palm in front of her. She said in a chirpy voice, ”You don't have to play nice, Ugly Aunty. If you want my blood, just say so.”
Ugly Aunty...
Huang Qiuyan felt that her dead heart was blown to pieces by this cute little doll. She knew that her face was plain. But she had never been called ugly.
If an adult called you ugly, you could tell yourself that it was a lie. But if a kid called you ugly, there's no room for negotiation.
