Mu Yao stopped in her tracks and turned around slowly with a smile. “It looks like you weren’t going to say anything unless I force you.”
When the man saw the smile on the woman’s face, he instantly came to a realization: That woman had merely put on a show for him!
The woman slowly walked closer, and the teasing smile from before instantly disappeared. She immediately regained her usual cold temperament. “Tell me, what is behind this stone door, and who are you? Why are they so afraid of you?”
Although the man was angry, he did not show it on his face. He raised his fair and well-defined face.
A hint of sincerity flashed across his deep eyes. “Sure. Firstly, I really don’t remember who I am. I don’t know how I got here. I don’t know what’s outside the stone door either, but I know that the place we’re at now is safe. Moreover, I don’t have any intention of harming you. I have lost all of my spiritual power. Even if I break the chains, I won’t be able to do anything to you. You can rest assured.”
The man continued, “As for the roars of the animals and beasts, I have heard them countless times. However, every time they approach the door, they would leave on their own accord. I said that earlier because I was afraid that they would hurt you if you went in. They’ve always loitered at the door and refused to come in. I think there might be something in this cave that they are afraid of.”
Mu Yao glanced at him, then caught his sincere gaze. Stunned for a moment, she said, “Alright, go on.”
“But I have another hypothesis. This stone door might be a one-way door. The door could be blocking them from entering,” the man suggested.
A hint of gloominess flashed across Mu Yao’s eyes. If that was the case, Mu Yao might never have made it back after walking through those doors.
This stone door was very likely a one-way door. But there were no other doors in the cave to walk through other than these four. However, if the exit was outside doors, they would stay in this place forever if they refused to step through those doors. They would probably survive, but they would never be able to leave. Then, Mu Yao wouldn’t be able to meet her parents!
