Chapter 982: Possessive Little Dragon (1/2)

I looked back at He Yi and asked her seriously, ”Eve, are you sure about this? This is 100 million RMB we’re talking about. Are you sure this is worth it?”

He Yi shot me a gentle smile and nodded. ”It is. Dark Moon City is the only city with Duplicate Mount and Mounted Archery Training, and our only method of creating the Dragonlight Archers. Who else in the game possesses this level of military strength right now? Therefore, 100 million is a lot, but losing Dark Moon City would cost us even more. It is a just price to secure our dreams. And don’t worry, now that Raincube is officially on the right track, we can afford this level of investment easily. Our partnership with Eternal Moon Corporation alone has netted us over forty billion RMB, and I fully expect this to pay back many times over, heehee…”

What could I possibly say against that? Meanwhile, Lifetaking Sword and other Snowy Cathaya members were staring at He Yi in shock and m.o.a.ning, ”OMG, Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls’ guild leader is such a beautiful, gentle, and caring woman! Our guild leader is practically a slave driver compared to her…”

Chiang!

Lin Yixin immediately stabbed the ground with the Seven Star Veluriyam Sword and asked, ”I’m sorry? Care to repeat yourself?”

Lifetaking Sword immediately turned purple. ”We didn’t say anything! The guild leader is wise!”

Zi Chuanyu jeered at him. ”Where is your spine, man! Pooh! Er, guild leader? You know we’ll always be Snowy Cathaya members, right? We are your eternal servants, and you have our unconditional support, right Lexi?”

Nangong Lexi rolled her eyes at him. ”If he has no spine, then you have no shame! Pooh!”

And so, He Yi bought all the gold there was on the trading platform until she had 100 million and gave it all to Sophie. The Purgatory Sovereign broke into a rare smile as she hugged her literal hill of gold, ”Oh, I feel so happy…”

Well I wasn’t. Not in the slightest. The sight of her hugging our gold made my heart ache. ”Alright, we paid you the gold, sis. When can you give us our 1000 Bone Dragons?”

Sophie frowned a bit before replying, ”I sense that you haven’t built Dragon’s Lair. You can’t house Bone Dragons without it.”

I asked, ”Dragon’s Lair? But Dark Moon City already has Dragon’s Grave. Must we build Dragon’s Lair?”

”Yes. You can’t house a dragon without it.”

”Fine, I’ll ask my men to build it right now!”

I brought up my friend list and contacted Xu Yang, ”Hey bro, you there?”

”Yep, I’m in Dark Moon City right now. What’s wrong?”

”Can you build Dragon’s Lair? You’ll find it on the last page of the building list. We didn’t need this building before, but now we do. It should take only ten minutes or so to finish, and it doesn’t need to be any higher than Rank 1.”

A few minutes later, I received a message from Xu Yang saying that the construction of the Dragon’s Lair had begun. Unfortunately, I was wrong about the construction time. It would take 30 minutes to finish.

Worried that Sophie would hightail it without paying her due, He Yi and I kept a close eye on her. Xinran wanted to recruit more God Domain soldiers to build her army, but I made her stay by grabbing her hand and talking about random stuff. Thankfully, she didn’t seem to mind it at all.

”Big bro, there is a breed of golden dragons in God Domain. They are very small and very cute. I can catch one for you if you want.”

”Well, are they powerful?”

”They’re only Purple Gold Rank. They’re super cute though…”

”Never mind then.”

”Big bro, do you know that there are convective currents above God Domain? It’s too bad you can’t fly, or we could play together!”

”...” Beside Xinran, Sophie shot her an incredulous look before commenting, ”Is it just me, or are you acting more and more childish, Xinran? Does your seal affect your intelligence as well?”

Xinran’s eyes turned steely. ”Keep quiet if you don’t want to get pummeled.”

I curled my lips. What’s more dangerous than two goddesses? Two goddesses who are also battle maniacs!

……

Finally, the Dragon’s Lair was complete, and Sophie knew it even before I told her about it. She rose to her feet and stabbed her sword on the ground. Then, she bit open her forefinger, pressed it against the ground and conjured a gigantic magical formation. She chanted, ”I, Sophie the Snow Minstrel, summon the sacred dragons who slumber in the depths of hell. Awaken!”

”Roar!”

A powerful gust of wind blew against our faces, and a huge, pale white dragon poked its head out of the magic formation. It took to the sky in one smooth motion and let out an impressive roar before flying straight toward the north where Dark Moon City was located. More Bone Dragons soon emerged from the magic formation, and it wasn’t long before the place turned dark from the sheer amount of dragons that were blotting the sky. Unlike the first dragon, they waited a bit to form a group before flying toward Dark Moon City together.

At the same time, a new unit icon appeared on my city control UI. It meant that the Bone Dragons were now under my command. Man, it feels so nice to have all that POWAH in my hands!

”Hey you, get your a.s.s over here!”

I pointed my sword at the last Bone Dragon and barked at it like a holy warrior. It immediately turned around and landed in front of me. It then lowered its gigantic head on the ground and blinked at me like an obedient pet.

”F.u.c.k man, that’s so cool!” Purple Marquis praised.

Not far away, He Yi pouted and looked at Lin Yixin inquiringly. ”Has he ever said something so corny to you, Yiyi?”

Lin Yixin clenched her fists and declared, ”He didn’t, Sister He Yi!”

He Yi: ”Hmph!”

Lin Yixin: ”Bastard!”

……

Rustle rustle rustle...

Suddenly, my Ancient Divine Dragon—it was now about a meter long after all the experience it had absorbed—opened its eyes and glared at the Bone Dragon. Then, it let out a guttural noise that sounded like some sort of warning before jumping onto the dragon!

Pa!

The Ancient Divine Dragon snapped its jaws around the Bone Dragon’s skull, but all it managed to do was strain its baby teeth. However, the Bone Dragon curled into a ball and w.h.i.n.ed like a bullied wife because it was intimidated by the baby dragon’s aura. It dared not retaliate against it at all.

”Roar!”
