Lin Qi’s pupils moved, glancing at the patient, then said flatly, “he has stones in his left kidney. No need to check him anymore.”

“Hmm, you haven’t even examined him, how can you be so sure?” Jiang Feng instantly gave him a dismissive look. Coldly he said, “Or, you deliberately make the same diagnosis as I did, so that the competition between us can end in a draw?”

Once this was said, everyone could not help raising doubts. Lin Qi had not even conducted an examination on the patient but incredibly drew the same conclusion as Jiang Feng’s; this might arouse their suspicion of Lin Qi’s cheating indeed.

“This is the disease the patient has. What else should I say?” Lin Qi said fretfully.

“Do you have any other capability besides talking glibly?” Jiang Feng shot a glance at him with disdain. There was a stir in the crowd.

Luo Tianwen knitted his eyebrows slightly and said to himself: even if the diagnosis turned out to be the same, you should feel the patient’s pulse first before drawing a conclusion.

“Whatever you are to say, at least the schedule of my treatment is different from yours.” As Lin Qi spoke, he took out a pen and a piece of paper, whizzed through a prescription, threw it to the patient and said, “Fill this prescription and decoct it with water. Take it once a day for twenty days and it will cure you!”

“This prescription will cure me of kidney stones?” the patient held the paper in his hand and looked at Lin Qi in surprise.

Lin Qi nodded, “I observed that your steps were feeble; obviously you’ve not refrained from having sexual intercourse after having kidney stones, so you probably still do not know that your kidney deficiency is more serious than the stones!”

“Eh-hem.” The patient’s face flushed with embarrassment, “Yes, you’ve got to the point, but this prescription…”

“If you don’t believe me, you can just ask Mr. Luo.” Lin Qi pointed to Luo Tianwen and said.

The patient turned to Luo Tianwen, who nodded slightly and went down from the stage. Luo Tianwen took the prescription, but changed his expression in a minute after a mere glance at it.

Everyone was staring at Luo Tianwen. The moment his expression changed, all those present got very tense up.

Instantly the four western medicine doctors were gloating. It seemed that Lin Qi couldn’t prescribe at all. Otherwise, how could Luo Tianwen have such a long face?

Unexpectedly, Luo Tianwen suddenly exclaimed in admiration, “Wonderful! It’s really wonderful! This kidney tonifying and stone expelling decoction can not only remove the stones from the kidney, but also tonify Qi of the kidney, so as to cure the disease. This prescription gives mature consideration to all aspects of the treatment. You are really remarkable, young man!”

Lin Qi smiled and said, “Mr. Luo, I’m flattered.”

“No, no. This is such a brilliant prescription you have given.” Luo Tianwen said, reading the prescription, “There are more than ten Chinese herbal medicines in the prescription, including Lysimachia, pyrrosia lingua, chicken’s gizzard-membrane, corydalis tuber and so on.”

“Several of them are too strong and might hurt the kidney, I’m afraid. But you’ve added some adjuvants that tonify the kidney and make them mild. They have the effect of reducing fever and causing diuresis, promoting the circulation of qi and blood. They’re simply a golden prescription for treating kidney stones!”

“Awesome, it’s awesome. The younger generation will surpass the older. I have to admit with regret that this prescription is what I can not prescribe at all!”

It could be seen from the herbal remedies in this prescription whether Lin Qi had put a great deal of effort in his study of medicine. Luo Tianwen’s remarks were clearly a great recognition of Lin Qi.

“You are very cautious when giving medicines. You’ve passed the test. I will handle the TCM qualification certificate for you personally.” Luo Tianwen proclaimed quickly.

“Thank you very much, Mr. Luo.” Lin Qi smiled.

People could question Lin Qi, but there would be no objection to Luo Tianwen—an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor who had inherited the court medical arts.
