Chapter 53 - The Romanian Girl (2) (1/2)
”Mr. Cha, I have a question.”
Cha Junshik turned around and saw a woman with long wavy dark hair. She wore a yellow summer dress but wore a denim jacket as the outerwear.
But that wasn't Junshik's main focus.
What stunned Junshik was her facial feature. She had the facial feature of a European woman. She was pale—ghastly pale. She also had a pair of green eyes, and her lips were bloody red, probably from a classic red lipstick.
She looked stunning, and Junshik couldn't take his eyes off her just because of her enchanting beauty.
”Mr. Cha.”
”Ah, yes… what do you need?” Cha Junshik responded in English.
”Um, my name is Laura Lovena, and I have a question about the class since I came from Romania to study in South Korea,” the girl replied in Korean. ”Also, we should speak in Korean, Mr. Cha. I can speak and write hangul perfectly.”
”O—Okay, so… what do you need?”
”It's about the assignment. It is written in the note that we must submit our assignment before Sunday morning. But I have part-time work for the whole Saturday until very late at night. Is it possible for me to submit the paper on Sunday evening?” Laura Lovena said meekly. She sounded like a cute girl from another country who didn't;t have much experience in Korea, thus not conforming to the society's discipline.
'Hm… I should probably give her leniency. It must've been her first time coming and working part-time in South Korea,' Junshik thought. He rarely did this, but this girl seemed seriously worried about the assignment.
So he nodded, ”I will allow you to send me the assignment until Sunday night. But only this time, I reckon this is your first time working as a part-timer in South Korea, is it not?”
”Y—Yes, Mr. Cha! It's really difficult, and I need the money because the scholarship doesn't cover food expenses,” Laura Lovena said with her sparkly eyes.
For some reason, Cha Junshik felt pity for this girl. He rarely felt sympathy for his students because he was already lenient enough for all of their assignments, even the grading system. So, if anyone didn't do his paper assignment, they were mostly too lazy to do it.
”Thank you so much, Mr. Cha. I really appreciate your kindness!” Laura Lovena said. ”Oh, may I chat with you in Kakaotalk about the paper assignment submission, so I can tell you that I've submitted the assignment. I… um… I don't want to announce it in the group because you know… I will get bullied for getting leniency from you.”
”Yes, you should chat with me once you submit your paper,” Cha Junshik said, giving even more leniency.
Laura Lovena sighed in relief and bowed her head slightly, ”Thank you so much, Mr. Cha. Please excuse me. I still have another class to attend.”
”Yeah, go on.”
Laura Lovena left the room after that, and for some reason, Junshik felt a cold wind pass him the same time Laura Lovena walked past him.
Laura Lovena halted her step when she was near the door, ”Mr. Cha, may I ask another question?”
”Hm?”
”Do you own a dog?” Laura Lovena asked.
Cha Junshik was surprised by such a question. It wasn't really difficult to say yes, and he did own a dog called Alpheus. Though Alphie wasn't really a typical dog…
