40 WHERE IS MU LINGXI (1/2)

Without minding the weeping maid that he just kicked out of his way, Mu Ruochen strode across the doorway towards his granddaughter's room.

He knocked three times consecutively before he leaned closer to the door and called her out,

”Little girl???? Grandfather is here. Open the door”

but he did not get any answer. It was as if there's no one inside the room.

Mu Ruochen was feeling frustrated this time. He instructed Mu Lingxi to accompany Prince Long Fuzi around. While he was planning to continue discussing the marriage arrangement between Mu Lingxi and Long Fuzi.

If possible, he would like to bring up the engagement for Mu Yanxiao and the crown prince as well. Hitting two birds in one stone.

Yet before he could even start hinting to the emperor, Prince Long Fuzi came back with a dark expression. It was easy to guess that his supposed date with Mu clan's young miss, Mu Lingxi, did not get well.

After some perfunctory talk, the father and son duo excused themselves and went back to the palace, just like that. Well apparently, the good thing is that they did not decide to call off the marriage proposal between his granddaughter Mu Lingxi and Prince Long Fuzi. Because if that happens, that will be a great loss on his part.

He wonders what could have happened to the two youth but after some contemplation, he decided to let go of the idea.

”This granddaughter's stubbornness was getting more and more out of hand.”

He commented as he readied himself to visit Mu Lingxi's chamber.

When he arrived, he saw a pale looking maid. He was intending to ask her about what happened to get a better idea but before he could talk to her properly, the maid started crying.

His anger flared up that is why he failed to control his temper and kicked that irritating maid, who happens to be Yanyan.

”Xiao Lingxi,... open the door. Or else I will ask our guards to pull down your door.”

Mu Ruochen was losing his temper, and this time he used a threatening voice as he said those words.

He tried to peek inside the room and listen for any sign of movement, but the result is the same. It was dead silent inside.
