Lu Xuechen naturally had no interest in her hobbies, he simply asked out of politeness to prevent the following conversation from being awkward.

She didn’t like beating around the bush.

As the delicate dishes were served one by one, Lu Xuechen unrolled the silk napkin on the table.

Before he picked up his knife and fork, he took a sip of water. When he looked at Lin Jiayu again, he said with extreme seriousness, “Miss Lin, would you like to find a father for your child?”

Lin Jiayu froze a little as she laid out her napkin.

She looked up at Lu Xuechen and asked questioningly, “You’re not asking me to trick Madam Lu with you, right?”

Lu Xuechen corrected her, “It’s not considered a trick. I’m just trying to make my mother happy.”

Lin Jiayu stared at him. The man was seriously good looking like a carefully carved sculpture.

She thought for a second and rejected him, “I’m sorry, I never considered finding my child a father. I suggest you explain everything to Madam Lu. Deception can’t last forever and lies are bound to be uncovered. This meal can be my treat.”

Her words were firm, but Lu Xuechen did not consider giving up at all.

He leaned back in his chair, “Miss Lin, even if you’re not thinking for yourself, shouldn’t you think for the child in your stomach? Do you really want him to be a shameful illegitimate child?”

Lin Jiayu’s eyelids drooped as she replied calmly, “But, we aren’t suited for each other.”

Lu Xuechen’s lips curved upwards slightly. With an ambiguous smile, he said, “I don’t plan on being a real couple. We can sign a contract for one year. After one year, we can agree to divorce.”

Judging by what he knew about Wen Xinmei, only marriage would make her completely give up.

It didn’t matter to him whether he got married or not.
