Jiang Qi’s face turned pale like snow as she quickly sat upright and helped Yu Gangan up. “How are you? Are you hurt?” she asked worriedly.

Yu Gangan held back the pain and shook her head. She then yelled at Jiang Baian coldly, “You went too far! How could a grown man push a young woman like this? There’s no way she could have kept her balance. If she fell and something went wrong, what would you have done?”

“A traitor like her deserves to be taught a lesson,” Jiang Baian said with disdain.

Yu Gangan argued back coldly, “There must be something wrong with your brain. You must have got too much water or air in it when you were still in your mother’s womb. She’s helping her own brother, how is she a traitor?”

Jiang Baian’s face darkened as he raised his hand to hit Yu Gangan, but an authoritative voice suddenly echoed through the room, “What are you doing?”

No one knew when Elder Jiang had arrived and how much he had heard. All they knew was, he was standing at the top of the stairs glaring authoritatively at Jiang Baian.

Jiang Baian’s arm froze in horror. He then tried to explain himself in a panic, “Grandfather, this woman is trying to drive a wedge between Xiao Qi and I. She is deliberately stirring up trouble in this household.”

Yu Gangan frowned and looked with disgust at the man that only knew how to bully the weak.
