116 Fianceé (1/2)

”Excuse me,” Carl said, getting up. Chamberlain nodded. After he left, Isabella began talking unreservedly.

”Brother who is he exactly?”

”You should know better, let him be. The sooner your attraction for him dies, the better.”

He picked up his glass half filled with wine, he slowly twirled the glass before drinking it.

”Who says I'm attracted to him?” She denied. Acting clueless.

”I can see it in your eyes, Bell.

He's not fit to be your husband. Father would never agree, so you should let go now.”

Isabella could only bite on her lips to stop herself from telling her brother how unfair it was for her. Then again, it wasn't really his fault.

Her eyes teared, she felt stuffed. Being born into her family had it's disadvantages too, ”Yes, brother.”

”Brother, your fianceé will be arriving soon.” She added, watching her brother.

His hands twirling the glass paused. He set it down on the table, ”Why?”

”To set a date.”

”Date? We just got engaged.”

”Obviously for the wedding. You can't drag it out. Their side wants the ceremony to take place before the end of the year.”

”It's not even March.”

”You've known her for long already, so there's really no need to get to know each other even more.”

His fianceé was the daughter of a family friend. She frequented their home when they were younger. After studying abroad for a few years, she would be returning soon.

They had gone over to hold the ceremony and he was not a fan of her but it was already decided since a long time ago. He could only go along with it. There was no room for discussion.

”When will she be arriving?”

”Probably next week. Father said she would be coming directly to State B, you're to pick her up from the airport. And she would be living with us.”Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please clickfor visiting.

”There's no room for her to stay.” He scoffed.

”Father knew you would say that, he said to tell you having heirs before the marriage isn't exactly a bad thing. He considers her his daughter in-law already.”

”Did mom say anything?”

”What can she say? She feels it would be better for both of you to be together than a strange unknown woman.”

”Oh…”

His mind wandered to his ”fianceé”. She was beautiful with soft curves that was indeed seductive.

She had shoulder length, wavy, black hair. Her scent, mild and natural. She wasn't really tall as compared to him. Her face was delicate and her eyes hid something that made him uncomfortable.

During the ceremony, he was forced to kiss her, which he did perfunctorily. He could never see her as anything more than his little sister even though he had been told repeatedly that they would eventually get married.

He felt like he was asked to kiss Isabella. It was weird. Seeing her blush after they shared their first kiss made him feel like a paedophile. Even as they were pushed to share the same room, he took the couch.
