118 Another Attack (1/2)

Kim diligently went to the gym. After Which she decided to go to Madam George's Restaurant to resume work.

”You're back?” Madam George dropped the pan and wiped her hands, stepping out of the kitchen.

”Why did you leave without telling us? Your friend was really worried about you. We thought you went missing and we had no way to contact you. How are you feeling? Did something happen?”

He warm eyes and worried tone made Kim feel at ease. She knew it was genuine, thus her eyes began to itch. She had previously promised not to cry, especially on good occasions, so she took a deep breath to calm her nerves before giving a warm smile in return.

Madam George tightly embraced her, her thoughts swiveled to how comforting a mother's hug really was. Because of which she couldn't hold back her tears.

As she bawled her eyes out, Madam George rubbed her back, ”It's going to be alright.” Her words were more than comforting.

This is what she craved for, the love and care of a mother. Kim had long forgotten how it felt like.

Depending on others made her uncomfortable specifically because of her experience as a child. She knew no one really considered her as she was cast aside, ignored, by the other kids, the matron inclusive because she was nothing more than bad luck.

Whenever she thought of relaxing or finally being happy, something would remind her that she was not meant to be loved.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please clickfor visiting.

After all, those who had treated her genuinely ended up dead. How then could she think to be happy or accept care from others.

Other than the fact that she was scared of being deceived by people, she also feared the death of those that really cared. It had happened a lot for her to close off entirely.

”Come sit.” Madam George guided her to a seat. ”What would you like to eat?”

”I'm fine, I ate before coming.” She politely declined her offer.

”Really? I can't tell, you're so skinny.”

She laughed, rubbing her stomach, ”Ma, look at my stomach.”

Madam George frowned, ”Did someone say you'd become ugly? Don't listen to them! Eating to your satisfaction is more important. Besides if they don't love you when you're fat, they don't really love you. Don't you think so?”
