163 Date 2 (1/2)

The atmosphere in the restaurant was rather intimate and warm. The setting sun and the clear river added to the brilliance of the environment, making it picture-perfect.

”Let me put it simply, assuming you lived with your family, what would you like to be?” Carl rephrased his earlier question.

Kim blinked her doe eyes, ”I haven't thought of that…”

The waiter's arrival interrupted their conversation. He diligently placed the food on the table. With a polite smile on his face, he asked if they would be needing anything. Carl shook his head, waving him away.

He continued, ”About your family, I'll help you search for them. I'm not sure if it will be as effective as your plan, but I'll do my best. You just have to think of what you really want.”

”What if you can't find them? Or what if they never wanted me? What if they're dead?”

Her Insecurity about their relationship may have been destroyed by Carl but concerning her parents, it was still present. And he understood that when someone was insecure, the next cause of action is to assure that person to the best of his ability.

”Whatever the case may be, aren't I your family? We could increase our number if you so wish.” He ended the sentence with a cheeky smile. His eyes held plenitude of patience and gentleness.

Kim blushed, understanding what he was implying. ”What about you?” She inquired. She had no idea about his aspirations too.

”Previously, I didn't have any desire although, a part of me wanted to take back everything that belongs to my mother, now, I don't want to go back to the Blackwood family… not at all. I don't even wish to return to the capital. I hope for a peaceful life with you. A comfortable life with you and our children is good enough. Perhaps, I'll come to have a dream but right now, staying by your side is all I can think of.”

”Isn't your dream too simple?” Kim asked as she began eating. She did not understand why he was making her the center of his life. To the point where his dream was about her.

She was the only one for him. More than he expected… he didn't even have an expectation. Why wouldn't he treasure her above every other thing?

”The simple things in life matter most. Besides, I know you don't like complicated things. I also know you enjoy cooking. Have you thought of going to a culinary school?

I'm not saying you should quit what you're doing. I just want you reevaluate things and also think of yourself a little. If after thinking things through and you still want to study Law, I'll support you. And if you feel, you don't want to do it anymore, I'll still support you. As long as you're happy.”

Carl's words, though simple had a different effect on her. She had never thought of things this way. True, she loved cooking, she loved looking up recipes and trying them but to actually study it, it never crossed her mind.
