Chapter 35 Tricking Mage (1/2)

Daihu lays out the news. “Did I get the news right? Han Qilu has forgotten An Chuxia and he’s currently dating that star, Mankuai.”

Nangong Zifei didn’t order him to dig any information, but he knows that despite his boss saying he’s responsible for Mage, he knows Zifei doesn’t like her; he likes An Chuxia. This doesn’t change anything though.

How wonderful! He doesn’t like Mage; he can’t fu*king stand her!

Nangong Zifei doesn’t respond. He sets the steel balls on the table and quietly stares at the vast darkness.

Jiao Daihu has always been a hothead, and when he can’t keep quiet, he goes up to him and says, “Boss, do you still like sister-in-law?” He’s seen it. He doesn’t pretend to be proper.

In the middle of his statement, Daihu suddenly stops, because Zifei points a silver pistol against his temple.

All of Nangong Zifei’s guns are real, and it is used to kill!

“Boss, I’m kidding. Don’t do this… .” Jiao Daihu says regretfully. “If I don’t say anything… ”

Daihu’s feminine plea garners a hard look from Zifei. He pulls the pistol away. “Don’t call her sister-in-law. Otherwise, I’ll turn you into one.”

Zifei’s statement has Daihu looking away. Daihu walks back with both hands behind him. “Absolutely, absolutely there won’t be a next time!”

“You’re going to enroll for me at Stein tomorrow, and a few days after that, I’ll attend class.” He continues talking coldly. “Return quickly when you’re done. Don’t meander and eye the beautiful girls.”

“You’re right, boss. I’ll be a gentleman.” But that’s not the focus of this conversation. “Don’t you want to go to school tomorrow? How long would you delay?”

“I’m giving you three seconds to disappear!” Nangong Zifei may as well have been seeing double as Daihu moved. His speed and size are inversely proportional. It’s not that Daihu is fat, he’s burly. As for looks… .

He doesn’t know what to do about it.

Daihu leaves the room so quickly, he doesn’t shut Zifei’s door, but he hears the door next to the boss’s shut. Then, everything is silent.

He smiles coldly. He knows she’s been eavesdropping. This concept makes his dislike for her get to another level. He’s about to leave when he hears footsteps behind him. He licks his lips before turning in place. Sure enough, Mage appears in a lilac dress with a thin yellow belt around her waist. Her hair is tied up the way An Chuxia does.

He understands why his boss took her under his wing. It’s not only that she’s pitiful, but she shares similarities with Chuxia.

She should’ve just been grateful, but this girl doesn’t understand [the term] contentment.

“Is there something [you want to ask]?” Daihu looks down on Mage. “You wouldn’t happen to have eavesdropped on my conversation with the boss, would you?”

She clenches her fists, but her face remains calm. She tried to eavesdrop but they were having the conversation at the balcony, she didn’t hear anything at all.

“Why would I eavesdrop on your conversation?” Mage smirks before asking. “Daihu ge, what did you say to the boss? Are we going to school today?”

Since she didn’t hear his conversation with Zifei, it would be easy to improvise.

Jiao Daihu suddenly acts sad, sighing. “Oh, I’m really sad for you.”

“Why?” Mage’s face stiffens as she looks at him. She always looks pained. Even if she’s pampered and treated well, she hates being treated like she’s pitiful!

“Why?” Daihu shakes his head. “The boss won’t allow me to tell you.”

“Hey, Daihu ge!” Mage chases after him when he walks away. “Tell me anyway. He wouldn’t know.”

“Then you have to pretend you don’t know anything.” After getting a firm nod from Mage, Daihu holds back his smile. “If our boss has a blind spot, it’s An Chuxia. He doesn’t want to hurt you. He can’t give you his heart, so he said he’s sending you to school so you can get to meet other guys, and forget him. He knows An Chuxia is returning to school tomorrow, so he thinks you’ll be upset for a few days, but he asked me to take you in for formalities.”

In fact, it’s enough to just let her go through the registration process. Nangong didn’t say any of this, but once Mage realizes the truth, she might get over things sooner.

Mage goes pale after hearing Daihu’s statement.
