Chapter 110 - Rotten Blood and Flesh (5) (1/2)

*THUD!!!*

With a heavy sound, the abomination crashed against the ground and was crushed into meat paste. Pieces of its body flew to the surroundings.

*Thud!* Aleen and Aya fell half a second later.

When Aleen and Aya touched the ground, they rolled aside to try to reduce the impact of the fall.

Despite it, both of them felt as though their bones were being crushed.

Fortunately, Aleen's sword helped to reduce their speed greatly, so they did not suffer any major injury despite the pain.

At most, Aleen strained his right arm, that was holding the sword, and his right ankle, that took most of the impact of the fall; but such injuries could be healed after circulating his mana a few times.

On the other hand, the injury in his stomach was more serious.

After he was stabbed by the stubble guy's arm, Aleen had to face the abomination without treating the injury; and after it, he jumped from a fifteen-floors height. Due to it, the injury had widened greatly, and if not because Aleen was using his mana to stop the bleeding, he could have bled to death long ago.

After five seconds, the pair finally stood up slowly. Lily had been standing from the moment they reached the ground; apparently, she suffered the least during the fall.

"… Are you fine?" Aleen asked while examining the condition of his body.

"… Mm. Thanks to you." Aya nodded slowly.

Aleen put on a wry smile and shook his head. He then looked towards the place where the abomination fell.

"Let's see how it is…"

Aya nodded and followed after him.

The abomination had been completely crushed after it fell down. Its heavy body had been broken into pieces with some parts flying until fifteen meters away. It even created a small crater in the place where it fell.

But when Aleen saw it, his expression turned heavy.

Because though it was in such a disastrous state, it was still alive.

Aleen could see some pieces of flesh twitching and moving creepily while trying to reconstruct the level-three monster.

"… Is this thing immortal?" He asked involuntarily.

Aya also looked to the scene with a grave expression. Though they were able to survive against the abomination this time, none of them was confident in escaping from it again.

Fortunately, it did not seem like it was able to reconstruct its body soon.

"… What are we going to do now? The portal was destroyed." Aya asked with a slightly worried tone.

Aleen closed his eyes and thought for a moment. "The game will end in another twenty minutes; however, our score will reduce because we failed the mission. That is not a problem for me, but I'm not sure about you."

"…What do you mean?"

"If your battlefield score is negative when the game ends, you will die."

Aya's expressionless look hardened immediately.

After a few seconds, she recovered and asked again. "How do I know if my score is enough?"

"I don't know." Aleen shook his head helplessly. "However, I think that it's better if you kill as many monsters as possible to increase your probabilities."

"… Do you have any idea?"

Aleen thought for one second before answering. "It would be great if you can kill the level-three abomination, but unfortunately, I don't think we can do it unless we burn it to ashes or something like that; so we'll have to take the second option: To kill the greatest number of weak monsters possible."

Aya fell silent for a moment before opening her eyes wide and looking towards Aleen in astonishment. "Do you mean…"

Aleen nodded helplessly. "It's your only option now. The horde of level-one zombies is too far away and the time is not enough to go there, so, if you want to kill many monsters, the spiders are the best option."
