Chapter 38 – You’d Be Executed If This Was The Old Days (2)

Yu Duo stood there deflated like a balloon that had lost all of its air.

She was just like one of those doves she just saw. They had freedom under the whole big sky, but just like them, she had only briefly flapped her wings and stopped short without flying too far away.

Old habits die hard.

She had been with Fu Sinian for three years, and he had been her entire life. As much as she wasn’t used to that, it has become a habit for her.

Having lost her interest, she put her cellphone away. She took a look at the busy streets and all classy-looking luxurious goods stores, she had no more interest to continue shopping.

The more she wanted to not think about Fu Sinian, the more his name would pop into her mind.

She had been with Fu Sinian for three years. This entire time she had never left S City, let alone traveling overseas with him. This opportunity for her to travel the world didn’t come by easily, so why did she keep thinking about the jerk?

He made her life miserable when he was alive; why was he still so annoying after he was dead?

Finally, she came to a conclusion.

She kept thinking about Fu Sinian because she was bored.

If she could keep herself busy, she would stop thinking about him.

Yu Duo gritted her teeth. Feling disgruntled toward Fu Sinian, she walked into a luxury goods store again.

“Hi, Miss. What can I do for you?”

Yu Duo looked around. Pointing at a blue purse in the showcase, she said, “I would like to take a look at that.”

“Sure, just a minute.”

A minute later the store clerk handed the purse to Yu Duo, “Miss, this purse is our….”

Yu Duo was listening to the store clerk introducing to her the material of the purse, which designer it was from, but as she was listening, she was very distracted and couldn’t focus on what she was saying.

She remembered that it wasn’t rare for Fu Sinian to buy her things. Clothes, shoes, purses… he’d always have the latest styles delivered directly to the house. Her most favorite item was a diamond necklace that he bought for her from an auction.

That was her most favorite gift from Fu Sinian, other than the bank card.

After the store clerk had finished her spew, she smiled at Yu Duo and said, “Miss? Are you alright?”

Yu Duo recollected herself and gave her an embarrassed smile, “Pardon me, I was….”

“No problem, Miss, do you still want to get this purse? This also comes in grey and mustard yellow,” said the store clerk as she pointed at two other purses of different colors.

Fu Sinian quite liked the yellow one, “The yellow one is the best.”
