Chapter 40 - Bonus - The Past (1/2)

Megan, age twenty one.

From early on, I had learned the hard way. I was raised in an orphanage, I worked hard everyday since I was in elementary to make sure that I got accepted to the best school on a scholarship.  I was never the girl that was pick by a foster parents. The reoccurring rejection made me into who I am today.

I was tougher and more resilient to the outside world. I got bullied a lot for being the least fortunate at school. Most days, I would study then I would part time as a waitress to earn money for food and shelter. I didn't have time to socialize, I had been doing this since I was ten, by helping out at a local mom and pop shop across the orphanage.

I had learned to save up money from a very early age, I learn to trust no one, to not be dependent in anyone. I ranaway from the orphanege when I finish junior high. I was my own self. I only have two things on my mind since I was a kid. Stability and Money.

That was why I grow up to be socially awkward, but I really didn't care. That was also why I was speechless when Olga, the heir of one the most wealthy family in the country would even consider me to hang with her.

”Oh Megan...you study too f.u.c.k.i.n.g much. Let's play!” Olga slumped herself on my bed, flipping through some fashion magazine.

”Olga, I'm here on a scholarship. I need to maintain my grades, and make sure that I can get into the top internship program. It's still Monday Olga...we just play last Saturday.” I scolded her for being out too many times, though all expenses paid by her but I really need to study. Keeping my grades was actually not enough, the competition here is cutthroat. I needed to be the best.

”Okay then, I'm going alone. At least there's no one that's going to lecture me there.”

Goddamn!

Olga comes from a very wealthy, most feared mob family. She never goes anywhere without her guards, and every time she actually went without them, situation would always get out of control.

”Guards? who needs guards? when I have you...my trustee sidekick.” She grinned at me and start opening my drawers and start picking out my outfit. She knows already that I would bend to her wishes.

Every freaking time.

I sighed and finally shutdown my laptop.

”Okay, but just for a couple of hours, then we're done okay?”

One hour later, after a grueling outfit choosing and intensive make up session by Olga, we were finally heading out the door. She was right, her guards were not present. I just shrugged and hope for the best, it would only be for a couple of hours anyway.

”You know you're s.e.xy as hell if you would only dressed and put on your make up appropriately. You should should stick with me Megan dear, we'll make a deadly combo....” she was babbling on and on until we arrived at Players, then she was heading directly to the bar and greeted the bartender like he was her playmates. Damn, the club was like her playground. She was moving around smoothly and finally parked her a.s.s at our usual seat by the bar.

”Jack! start our girl Megan with some bubbly yeah? she needs to loosen up, she study too damn much.” He laughed at her, then give her a s.e.xy wink and poured me a glass of what looked like a vodka mix.

I still didn't get how she could comfortably sit in that short short dress, while I kept on pulling mine down every couple of seconds. She was flirting with a guy next to her already, while I was still not feeling comfortable in my dress.
