276 Your suitability is for me to decide! (1/2)

”Actually…” Pei Ge raised her head and looked at him without blinking. ”I'm happy to be your female companion.”

Once she spoke these words, she felt the office become warmer by a lot. Lifting her eyes to look at Ji Ziming, she found his expression to be softer and… kinder?

”However.” The room's temperature seemed to become a few degrees colder when she continued speaking. ”I don't think I'm suitable to be your female companion.”

She felt chills ran down her spine after saying this.

Aiyo, I'll be damned! Why do I feel that this annoying person's gaze is so frightening?

”Your suitability is for me to decide,” he said indifferently while looking at her.

Still, there was a hint of displeasure in his voice.

”Oh.” She actually did not want to attend any banquet with him, but she knew that this was not the right time for honesty. Otherwise, if looks could kill, she would be dead by now.

”Alright, you head out.” He shifted his gaze away from her and toward the documents on the desk.

”Oh.” She sighed in relief when he released her.

Just as she turned for the door, he suddenly called out to her, ”Wait!”

She halted her footsteps at his call.

”Is there something else, CEO Ji?” she asked with a polite smile.

Her fake smile made Ji Ziming frown.

”Your smile is too ugly.”

”…” Damn! The veins in her forehead felt like they were going to explode.

Her smile was thus replaced by a grimace. ”Do you have other instructions for me, CEO Ji?”

Hmph, hmph, hmph! Didn't you say that my smile is ugly?! Let's see what else you have to say about my face!

”Brew me a cup of coffee,” he replied calmly.

”Oh.” She nodded and then went to the pantry within the CEO's office.

She had been to the CEO's pantry before. How could she not have been there when she was his secretary?

She was inexperienced in brewing coffee, though, so this particular task was often delegated to the other three secretaries. All in all, she had never brewed coffee for Ji Ziming before.

The pantry had wooden furnishings and white walls. She opened all the cabinets with unfamiliarity and eventually located what she needed.

She blinked at the coffee machine and, after a long time of poking around, eventually figured out how to operate it.

She really felt like she was going crazy when she saw the coffee beans.

”How to brew these?! Boil them?” She eyed the coffee beans helplessly.

Staring at the container of coffee beans for a while, she decided to find other types of coffee that were easier to brew.

She rummaged through the cabinets and drawers and eventually located a pouch of coffee in the last drawer.

”Found one at last!” She excitedly grabbed the small bag of coffee and poured it into the machine.
