There was one more important thing to do before the trial began.
Weiss waved the scepter that symbolized supremacy in his hand. In an instant, a man appeared on the bloodstained floor. It was the man who was swallowed by the monster. He was only devoured and did not die.
When the man appeared, he looked around in fear. When he realized that he was still alive, he could not help but fall to the ground. He thought of the monster that had devoured him and muttered.
“You can’t see me, you can’t see me.”
Then he retreated to the corner of the wall and hugged his head. Clearly, he was scared out of his wits.
“The trial begins now. Those who will be judged are not allowed to fabricate anything. You must explain everything in detail and not make any mistakes.”
Weiss stood up and a huge trial platform appeared in the church. He was high on the judge’s bench. Gabriel was the clerk, Michael was the prosecutor and all the angels were seated on the spectator benches. Then Weiss pointed to the first man to die and he instantly appeared in the trial room. His fear calmed for a moment and he looked at Weiss and flattered.
“Heavenly Father, I am truly blessed to be able to see you. Please allow me to pay my utmost respect to you.”
Weiss tapped his cane solemnly and said.
“There is no need to say anything unnecessary. Tell me your crimes one by one.”
“What crime could I have committed? My wife and I were originally well and happy but the daughter of the richest man fell for me and insisted that I be her husband.”
Weiss was speechless in his heart. This man still had the thought of getting lucky.
“That’s enough. Tell me the truth. If you continue to spout nonsense, I’ll let you taste the feeling of being crushed to pieces.”
Weiss was a little angry. This person still had the mood to spout nonsense at this point.
“Father, I was right except that I got the daughter of the richest man to look for me. I had to get the legal heir of the wealthiest man’s inheritance. I definitely couldn’t let go of such a good opportunity. That b*tch even wanted to get in my way. I had no choice but to kill her.”
Weiss was a little angry in his heart. This person was really lazy. He was originally from a small and well-off family but for the so-called glory and wealth, he didn’t hesitate to kill his wife. What a perfect example of laziness. He really had to give this person an unforgettable punishment.
“Don’t you like money and want to get it without having to work for it? Just stay here and count your life’s money until you die of old age!”
When he finished, the man appeared in a corner of the church with red notes in his eyes. The man could only count them one by one and his hands were cramped from counting them.
Next was the miner. When the miner appeared in the conservatory, his mouth was still stuffed with food, his stomach nearly burst, Weiss had to wave his cane to turn the miner back into his original form. The miner remained unmoved except for tears at the corners of his eyes.
He knelt down and said loudly.
“Great Father, I’m guilty. My brothers gave their lives to me so that I could survive in the mine. I’m not human. I watched them die one by one with tears in my eyes. I watched them smile as they gave their flesh and blood to me so that I could take care of their loved ones. My death is not worthy of pity but I only wish to revive them. I’m willing to use my life to repay this.”
Weiss understood. That made sense. How could an ordinary man still be dressed in such shabby clothes after receiving a large sum of money? It was highly possible that he had taken money and given it to the family of the miners who had lost their life in the accident. Furthermore, the miner’s words were incoherent in the confessional. It was obvious that someone had tampered with it. He looked at the priest who looked flustered but still muttered, “This is impossible, this is impossible.”
Weiss ignored him. He finally understood. The priest had asked the miner to overlook the details, possibly to confuse him so that he couldn’t determine who the innocent was. But how did the priest know the details of his mission? Besides, he was the master of the dream. How could anyone cross him to influence the people in the dream?
