Chapter 7 - 07 - What is a Guitar? (2/2)
Sona saw his reaction but did nothing. ”I'm here to take the test to sing at night.”
Hearing her answer, the man raised his eyebrows and looked sideways looking for someone near her. ”Just you? Where's the rest of your band?”
”I came to sing alone.” She said with the usual quiet look.
”We just let bands play at the bar, if you don't have a band with you, get out.” The man said as he started closing the door hard. But to his surprise, no matter how hard he tried to close, the door just wouldn't go out of place. He was curious and saw a small, delicate, white hand holding the door as if it were just a small problem.
The man had refused to sleep since he was dying of sleep because he stayed late cleaning the bar yesterday. Now he had been woken up by a delicate little girl with a strange box on her back asking her to sing at his bar. Plus, this little girl seemed to be even stronger than him.
”All right, girl, I'm gonna hear you play a song. If you play a song and I don't like it, no matter what you do, I won't let you sing in my bar. Do we have a deal?” The man said.
”You only need to listen to me once.” Sona said with pride. She knew a mere mortal would not resist after hearing her play once.
The man heard that and counted it as arrogance. 'Humph, I deny dozens of bands playing in my bar every week, with that arrogance of yours I doubt you can play a good song.' The man thought as he prepared for how he would refuse her.
When they arrived on stage, the man signaled for Sona to come up and get ready. The equipment was off, but he didn't bother to call. This little girl probably wouldn't sing anything good, he wouldn't have to make the effort to connect the instruments for her to use.
”Did you bring your guitar?” The man asked looking at the strange box trying to decipher what might be hidden there.
”What's a guitar?” Sona asked since in her old world there was no instrument by that name.
When the man heard her question, he couldn't help but facepalmed and swear inwardly for having given this girl the chance who didn't even know what a guitar was and came acting all arrogant.
