Chapter 34 - Golden Fish (1/2)
”Rose, darling don't be afraid, it won't hurt, I promise.”
”But… this.”
”Don't you trust me?”
”I do, but…” the beautiful Rose was now debating into giving her precious first moment to an incredible person. ”But… Princess Anne, isn't Henry going to get mad at you?”
”Why would he?”
”Because, he is looking at you now, over there.”
The gardens of the Academy were beautiful, full of flowers of different kinds that adorned the paths to give the students the most of the comforts after a full day of school, of learning, and studying. Though they were used as another kind of diversion, or what Anne liked to call them, a time to enjoy the glorious creations of chef Hugo, and, of course, to promote the Druon's rainbow fruit tart, a novelty in the world.
”Don't worry, my beauty, he is only a bit concerned,” Anne didn't want to see reality with her own eyes. The moment she called Rose to her own table, the garden was filled with students trying to get some breath of fresh air from their illustrious learning paths. However, somehow, also the artistic fellows of the painting classes were having the time of their lives with all the commissions of Anne and Rose portraits. Not that Anne had some share over those pictures of her.
Though, Henry was having also the punishment he deserved, according to Anne. The count of the number of love letters he received had gone to the thousands, more than hers. That can't go unpunished.
”Princess, it hurts!”
”It's okay, my beauty, you can cry if you want, I will cover your tears.”
”Princess…” the teary eyes of Rose were almost a punch to anyone's hearts, but the mischievous eyes of Anne can bring down any innocent soul. ”Auch…”
”It is done, my dear Rose, how do you feel now? Does it hurt?”
”No… it doesn't hurt…”
”Do you like it?”
”Yes… it's beautiful…”
Anne smiled and patted the soft golden hair of Rose, ”Glad that you like it, my dear.”
”Your… Your Highness… I want to… also.”
”Oh dear Devon, you want too?”
”Yes,” the soft girl with brownish hair made a slight bow, but she was not the only one. About fifteen other little girls were in line waiting for their turn.
”Okay, then let's begin.”
Anne was already preparing her instruments to subdue the hearts of so many girls when an alarming storm started. The sky was covered in dark clouds and the thunders and lightning were flashing around. It was a terrifying view but more than anything the green eyes of a jealous man on the side.
”I think it is time for every one of you to go back inside, right?”
The soft and gentle voice of Henry was like a creepy feeling growing in their hearts. Who didn't know that he was the fiancé of the most outstanding Princess of Lith? Who didn't know that he was not an ordinary teenager?
”Henry?”
”Anne,” he is mad.
