Chapter 140 - Flames (1/2)
The Palace is on fire. Burning flames reached every corner of her palace, the rooms, the furniture, the books and plants, every place was surrounded in big red flames.
However, the woman that should have been there was looking the place where she was supposed to die from afar.
”Your Majesty, we should go before they come.”
”Lina, stop calling me that. I am not the Queen anymore, we are equals from now on.”
”But… I can't… Please don't make do that…”
”Sighs… then call me Miss Helena Benin.”
”Thank you Your… Miss Helena.”
Many servants and guards started arriving at the palace gates trying to extinguish the towers of fire, but the magic was preventing them from doing so.
”Miss Helena, where should we go now?”
”Let's move to the next town for now. Then we can start thinking, they will not follow us.”
”But King Owen…”
”It's alright Lina, he never saw my face… and he surely will be overjoyed with this, the one he wanted to marry was Jill, the daughter of Count Milstone.”
The woman with silver hair and golden eyes took a last look at the burning palace and got in her black horse and started galloping.
This was something she wanted to do long ago and had made plans since the beginning.
Her father was the Prime Minister, the Duke Jake Von Benin, he was a good friend of the King Arthur Killian of Nineland. They made a vow to unite their families and so she became the promised fiancée of the crown prince, Owen Killian.
He was the dream prince for the ladies. Valiant, smart, strong and the leader of the army. He decided to follow General Killiam, the older brother of the king to defend the country against the Kingdom of Eekon.
”We need to move faster Lina, they would start searching around the place in no time.”
”Yes Miss.”
The two girls were dresses as normal citizens with long plain clothes and two brown wasted capes. They looked ordinary if not for their beautiful looks. Helena has the same hair as her mother, a unique trait of her family but the eyes of his father. She would be in trouble if someone catched her.
Lina was a beautiful young girl with black hair and dark eyes but with skin so white and pure and incredible and fine features that she could surpass any lady from the high class.
However, the long road is not always the best choice. Sometimes it could be more dangerous. Monsters and beast could be attack at any time, but the most dangerous ones could be the bandits and thieves. Two women were the perfect prey.
”Miss, if we go through this path we would arrive at the border in one week.”
”I know but we don't have a choice. The other paths would be protected very well. At least, in one week the man can make an excuse good enough for my death.”
”Sighs…”
Lina looked sad, her gaze was down. The now King Owen Killian was the first love of Helena, Lina knew. She had grown up with Helena and looked at how she fell in love since young but her condition never allowed her to show her face nor interact with the young boy enough for them to grow feelings. However, Helena was always drawing his face in her books and sometimes his name.
However, the young prince never gave her any attention. He went to train for many years to the army camps and bȧrėly returned to the capital. Once he returned with a young lady in his arms. She was the daughter of Count Milstone. She was kidnapped by the enemy nation and the prince rescued her. The whole kingdom knew about that. Then the rumors about how the prince doted on the young lady Jill grew and grew.
When Helena married the crown prince, the rumors were at their peak and the young Helena was drawn to sadness. The King never paid any attention to her and left her to her palace alone. Helena decided to free him, that's how much she loved him.
Her father helped her in her escape plan.
They had been traveling through the Sand Forest for more than six hours when three men jumped in front of them and three others behind.
”Get out your horses ladies and we will treat you nicely.”
