6 Not Much to See (1/2)

It has been a month since Samantha's birthday. And she still has no clue who that man is. That week, she came back to the hotel so that she can investigate but the hotel couldn't give her an answer. So, she tried to take matters into her own hands.

Samantha hacked the hotel's server and checked the data to see who checked-in the room where she woke up. But there wasn't any information. It looked like there were no records of anyone using the room.

She then tried the security cameras but unfortunately, it has been tampered with. From the time that Andrew brought her to the room until the next day when she woke up, there was no evidence. It's like, it didn't even happen at all. She'll probably be able to try and recover it but it will take time so he asked a friend to help her.

She doesn't understand why this has been sealed. Was it her brother? No, it couldn't be.. It wouldn't make sense. Seo Joon had no idea about what happened that night. And she intends to keep it that way, she doesn't want to witness what her brother would do to Andrew if he finds out. Whoever that man was, he didn't want to be found out.

While Samantha was so engrossed about searching for answers, her phone beeped.

Hannah: ”I'm outside, let's go.”

Samantha was puzzled, she got up and rushed to the window and saw Hannah waving from her car. She dialed Hannah's number,

”Did we have a date today?” Samantha asked.

”Oh no, you don't! You can't do this, S!! We're supposed to have the last fitting of our gowns today!”

”Ohhh.. Was it today? Can't we post---”

”NO!! We already did that a few days ago! You get your butt down here Samantha Kim or I'm gonna scream and make a scene for your neighbors to see!”

Samantha laughed so hard, ”Please don't do that pretty, I'll get ready very quickly.” Knowing Hannah, she will definitely make a scene if she says so.

After they had their gowns fitted, everything was ready for the gala that will happen in several days.

-------------------

Gala.

The place was lively with lots of important people; politicians, celebrities and businessmen, it's very high-profile. Originally, Samantha didn't want to attend this social function but from her parents, brother and Hannah's constant persuasion, she eventually gave in.

Samantha wore a whimsical golden lace gown, she looked like a goddess who came down to earth and this made every man in the room notice her.

On the other side of the huge room, a tall gorgeous man in a black suit looked very dapper. Daniel Cho stood beside his brother Liam as they chatted. All the female socialites drooled over Daniel, the hottest bachelor of M City; but none of them had the courage to walk up to him, he was known for not having any interests in socializing with the ladies.

”Woah, who's that goddess in gold?! I don't think I've seen her before.”, Liam exclaimed.

Daniel Cho followed his brother's gaze and was hooked with what he saw. He subconsciously touched his neck when he was reminded of how Samantha's lips touched it when he was carrying her. 'We meet again.', he thought.

The program showed a variety of performances from national treasures, the guests engaged and conversed with each other; even Hannah found a hottie to talk to, she sure is efficient. And so, everyone was entertained; except maybe one young woman who was sitting somewhere in one of the tables in a secluded area away from people's attention.

Samantha had her hand supporting her head on the table while the other lazily picked dessert pieces with a fork and bringing them to her mouth. From time to time she sighs and at one point, while she was in a trance, the cake in her fork smeared the corner of her mouth and cheek, making a mess. She realized what she did and so she quickly wiped it off with a napkin while looking around to see if someone saw her clumsiness. Little did she know that a certain someone saw everything. Daniel had actually been stealing glances from Samantha and he couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. Though he tried to conceal his amusement, the corners of his mouth couldn't stop from lifting upwards.

A little while later, Samantha found a gazebo in the garden outside. She leaned on the frame and stared at the beautiful lights and landscape in front of her.

”Looks like someone's also not fond of parties.”

Samantha turned to where she heard the voice. A man in a black suit came to the gazebo.

”Yeah, I don't like pretentious people. And this gala is swarming with their kind.”

”Hmm. Very honest. We have the same sentiments.”, said Daniel Cho as he looked towards the bushes decorated with fairy lights.

”And yet, here you are.. attending the party.”

”I could say the same to you.” he smirked.

The wind blew and Daniel caught the peachy scent that became familiar to him already.

Samantha studied the man's facial features and her head tilted to the side, ”Wait... I remember you..”

'Oh? So she remembered me from that night when I saved her from Andrew Park.' Daniel kept it sealed shut as to avoid any scandals.

”Really? You know me?” he asked.
