Chapter 33 (1/2)

After dinner, everyone continued working overtime until around 10pm before going to bed.

At 6am the next day, they all got out of bed and continued what they had not completed yesterday.

It was really 16 hours of high-intensity work. Furthermore, it was all physical labor.

Everyone was working hard to withstand the invasion of the porcupine tribe, including Yuan, whose feet were injured and was unable to walk. No one was slacking off.

Fu Rui was also worried that their bodies would not be able to take it. However, when he thought about how they would be slaughtered by the porcupine tribe if they were not prepared, he could only make the painful decision to allow them to continue.

He casually signed in. However, the things he was given this time were somewhat rubbish.

[Proficiency in Languages of Any Race]

Fu Rui didn’t feel the need to understand the language of any race.

Would he need to understand the language of the porcupine tribe?

Forget it. According to Li, the chieftain of the porcupine tribe was cruel, bloodthirsty, and extremely violent. Even if Fu Rui could communicate with the chieftain, they could not possibly develop peacefully alongside the beast-eared tribe.

Moreover, the two tribes had already formed a blood feud before Fu Rui arrived.

Ignoring the reward, Fu Rui and Tu Tu set up a shooting range in the village in the morning.

The targets were all human-shaped props made of dried grass. Fu Rui even drew a ring on the targets to help them train.

“System, I want to exchange my points for archery skills.”

Fu Rui ordered in his heart.

He had taught them a lot of things over the past two days. Thus, he slowly accumulated some Civilization Points and returned to a double-digit number of points.

He definitely had more than enough points to exchange for archery skills.

“Ding, you have successfully obtained [Archery Skills]. Consumed 3 Civilization Points!”

In next to no time, a large amount of knowledge appeared in Fu Rui’s mind.

He was already used to the feeling of his brain being opened up for new knowledge to flow in.

“For those who have obtained bows, come over.”

When Village Chief Fu Rui called for them, more than ten beast-eared girls moved towards him.

Yesterday, only so many longbows had been made in a day. The efficiency was slightly low.

Furthermore, this was under the condition that Fu Rui had them use the “assembly line” to produce the bows. Dozens of people had worked together for an entire afternoon to produce this amount of bows.

Then, the training began. However, something awkward happened. Half of the beast-eared girls couldn’t even shoot the straw men. Even if the other half did, the arrows didn’t hit the target.

This kind of hit rate was not good. It was no wonder that they could not shoot the wild chickens.

They couldn’t even hit a fixed target accurately, let alone a moving target.

They had to train more.

Fu Rui started to teach them how to aim and how to draw the bow. “Straighten your chest and suck in your abdomen. Your hands must be steady. When you draw the bow, your arms must be opened and horizontal. Your vision should be level with the arrowhead. You can aim wherever you want to shoot. Judging from the distance from the target, you must adjust the extent you pull the bow.”

“How complicated.”

Li was also one of the members who were learning from Fu Rui. Upon hearing his words, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Why don’t you personally do a demonstration?”

“Sure.”

Fu Rui grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms to adjust her posture, from standing to pulling the bow.

This kind of contact was too intimate, so much so that the beast-eared girls looked at them with ambiguous gazes.

Meanwhile, Li’s face gradually turned red. To do such an intimate act with Fu Rui in front of so many people, as a girl, she was still a bit shy.

However, the results of this personal guidance were pretty good.

Later on in the training session, Li’s hit rate increased by quite a bit. Out of the ten arrows she shot, eight hit the straw men, and five hit the center target.

Even though they were still far from being accurate, it was still a huge improvement compared to before.

This progress was unexpected for Fu Rui.

Archery was an extremely difficult sport. Usually, just the posture alone required months of practice before one could grasp the key points and achieve the standard posture.

Moreover, there was too much uncertainty in archery skills. Any slight influence would cause the final landing point of the arrow to deviate.
