343 Going for the meeting (1/2)

Unwillingly he turned to look at his mother, ”Just now.”

”Oh. Is the food ready now?” Mrs Long turned her focus on the butler and asked the elder man who just entered the living room.

”Yes, Madam. Lunch is served.”

”Good. Let's go to the dining room,” Mrs Long stood up and walked to the dining room.

Mika did not follow her mother. She quickly turned to wrap her arm with Ryn's. But before she could do just that, Jeremy was already pulling Ryn to her feet. He actually woke Ryn up rudely.

”Ryn, wake up. Lunch,” he said simply, acting as if Mika was not there.

”Huh?” Ryn looked at him in a daze. She was so exhausted and her mind all in a blur.

”Jeremy!” Mika cried unhappily but Jeremy ignored her.

She looked at Ryn, pursing her lips sulkily. Ryn, see how that stupid brother bullying me!

The sleepy Ryn did not notice it at all. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and yawned. Without thinking, she let him pull her out from the living room, leaving the sulking Mika.

”Wash your face first,” Jeremy told Ryn, rubbing her arms to warm her up a bit. He even brushed the hair from covering her forehead. Some of that naughty hair slipped out from the ponytail she made after they were done with the fitting.

He did not even realize how intimate his action was and forgot that Ryn did not like them doing PDA even in front of his family. Well, he did not mind showing off his love but Ryn was still trying to get used to their relationship. Sigh. It seemed like he had to coax her slowly to warm her up with the idea of revealing their relationship to the public. He did not want to repeat the same mistake of hiding their relationship for the sake of his singing career until he forgot the most important person he should care about was her, his girlfriend whom he swore to love and never hurt. Now, in this second chance, he would want them to be able to have a relationship like other couples. He wanted them to be able to hold hands and hug in the public. He also wanted to kiss her anytime and anywhere he wanted without being worried paparazzi would take photos of them together.

Enough was enough. If his fans really wanted him to be happy, they should accept his choice of a partner. They could not expect him to stay single for the rest of his life just because of them. He deserved to be happy.

”Ryn~” Mika whined but she was left alone in the living room. She stormed her feet, rushing toward Ryn. Seeing how her big brother was behaving. She had the feeling she would be unable to spend time alone with Ryn. Her stupid brother would 'steal' Ryn from her with the excuse of being Ryn's boyfriend. Mika gasped in horror at the thought. She would not allow this. Ryn belonged to her!

Jeremy shook his head in bemused and went to the seat opposite Ryn. He did not mind losing the chance to sit next to Ryn, knowing perfectly he had a lot more time to create more chances between him and Ryn. They have their life together until death do them apart.

And he did not want to lower himself to Mika's childish level. He knew better not to argue with Mika in front of Ryn.

Seeing how everyone was ready at the table, the butler quickly clapped his hands, signalling the maids to quickly bringing in the food. He was happy to see the siblings did not create a problem regarding Miss Catherine's seat. The butler watched with his hawk eyes as the maids arranging the food on the table carefully one by one. The steam curling on top of the dishes indicated how fresh they were from the kitchen. No one would serve cold food to the family unless it was a cold dish, to begin with.

They spent lunch quietly. Well, as quiet as they could be with Mika whined when her mother kept scooping side dishes into her bowl. She looked at Ryn for help but her best friend was too happy enjoying the food to notice Mika's cry of help.

Mrs Long smiled in approval seeing how much Ryn was eating. She liked seeing Ryn did not starve herself even though she was a model. In fact, she noticed that the dear girl ate more than her daughter. With that thought in mind, Mrs Long took two pieces of meatballs into her daughter's bowl.

Jeremy ignored both his mother and little sister. His attention was on helping Ryn taking the dish she wanted to eat. With the cook excitement, the huge dining table was full of side dishes. Hence, Ryn was enjoying herself. And Jeremy was enjoying this moment too watching Ryn happy.

”You're leaving?” Mrs Long asked after lunch. She did see her son and her future daughter-in-law exchanging a weird look. She thought they would stay the night here but she was wrong. Jeremy nodded slightly at Ryn and she went to say goodbye at her.

”I have a meeting to attend,” Ryn replied with a smile. She reached out her hand for Mika when Mika came to hug her. ”Mika, I need to go. I can't be late.”

”I'm going with you?” Mika asked, resting her chin on Ryn's shoulder. Well, trying to but Ryn was tall for her to do it comfortably.

”I have meetings today, Mika. I'm not going out to play,” Ryn told her with a gentle hit on her head.

”Mika, let her go. We need to move now,” Jeremy untangled Mika from Ryn and pulled Ryn behind him.

”Jeremy!” Mika cried and then turned to look at their mother, ”Mother~”
