Chapter 440 - A headache (2/2)

Mika looked around for help but there was no one. Her grandmother was not here. She did not know why the Dowager was not here. How she wished her grandmother was here. Surely grandmother would be on her side and scold her father on her behalf.

She wished she knew where her grandmother was. Despite her grandmother's forceful way and expectation for others to follow her dictate and whim, Mika was afterall the princess and the baby of the family. Her grandmother doted on her so much and anything she wanted, her grandmother would fulfill it. Mika loved her grandmother so much.

”Mika, aren't you going to eat?” her father asked with a c.o.c.k an eyebrow.

”I am,” Mika murmured sadly. She went to her seat and sat on it with a pouted on her face.

A maid quickly came to put a plate in front of Mika. It was mostly vegetables as Mika was still in her strict diet in order to lose weight before the wedding.

Her father made an unhappy sigh when he saw the amount of food his little princess was having. He did not understand why his daughter must torture herself to get slim. He found her already beautiful and he had no doubt Jason was sharing the same feeling as well. Hopefully, after the wedding, Mika would stop with this nonsense and eat like a normal person.

Mika ate her breakfast quietly. She was still unsatisfied for being told off by her father.Even her mother was not helping her.She was all alone. So pitiful.So sad.

”I'm done,” she announced half-heartedly and stood up.

”Are you going to work?” her father asked as she was about to reach the door.

Her shoulders slumped down when she heard the question. She turned around and gave her parent a sad smile.

”Hmm...” she nodded sadly.What else could she say when her parents already 'ordered' her to go to work today? By hook or by crook, she must go there.

And she already has her own plan.She thought she wanted to spend the day with Ryn, maybe checking more showroom to give more options for Ryn to choose from. But apparently, the fate was against her. She could not go to Ryn when she has to go to work.

Hmph... so unfair.

She went into her room to change into her usual lolita outfit and put on some make-up and did her hair. Then, she grabbed one of the car keys in the box and went out of her room, holding a small handbag in a shape of a heart.

Mr and Mrs Long watched with a smile on their face as Mika walking passing them to go to the huge door. She went straight to the garage. As she has chosen the car rather bindly, she simply pushed the button to unlock the door.

One of the cars at the back made a sound and she quickly went there. With a heavy sigh, she dropped her handbag onto the passenger side beside her an started the engine. She checked the time before she drove the car out of the garage, and then the compound and joined the other vehicles on the road.

Even if she could actually go somewhere else as she was already an a.d.u.l.t, as this was an order from her father, she did not dare to go against him. He would learn about it if she dared to play trick' and she would not like the outcome. She was too old for a time-out or caning (which she never had before) but knowing her grandmother, her father surely learned a trick or two from the older woman.

She was still on the way to her office when her phone rang. It was from her own assistant, Stephanie. Hmm.. it seemed like this assistant of hers has been told about her coming so the woman actually called to brief her in what's going on with the work.

”What is it, Stehanie?” Mika asked with a frown.

”Boss, will we have meeting today?” Stephanie asked. She was informed that Mika would be coming to the company so she thought they would have a meeting to present the latest progress for all the lines. The designers were eager too to present their latest designs.

Stephanie needed to inform the others if they were to have a meeting today. In fact, they would need to have several meetings today so everyone could report their progress.

”Hmm... arrange it,” Mika decided. And then she added, ”But I want all to end before five today.”

”Stephanie rubbed her temple.Suddenly she had a headache.
