Chapter 516 - You do need to plan for the party (2/2)

”Do you want to drink alcohol or non-alcohol?” She asked but her attention was on the pot of stew she was heating up on the stove.

”I'll do it,” he finally moved and went to the refrigerator to take out two beer mugs that he deliberately kept to chill. He looked at her and saw no refusal from her part. He finally smiled and leaned down to get the two tins of beer. He poured them into the mugs.

”Here,” he handed one to her and sipped his beer.

She sipped hers and let out a satisfied sigh. She felt better now. She put the mug down and checked the rice cooker. She already set it up during the time the were cleaning after lunch. The rice all fluffy and ready to eat.

”Help me bring them to the table,” she said but her attention was on the stew, stirring it slowly.

Jeremy obeyed. He took another gulp of his beer and then placed the mug on the counter, bedide hers. He reached for the hand glove to take out the bowl from inside the microwave. Before he brought it to the dining table, he put a spoon into the bowl. In fact, he put a spoon into the one she previously reheated. One gloved hand carried the just reheated side dish while another hand carried the other bowl.

”J, use the tray,” she reminded but he already at the dining table, thanks to his long legs and big steps. He reached there as she realized that he did not use the tray. She sighed, shaking her head in bemused.

”I'll carry the rice,” he announced and took two rice bowls to put their rice from the rice cooker. She shut off the fire and reached for the set of chopsticks and spon for him to carry as well. She placed them on a tray and signalled him to use the tray to make it easier for him to carry to the dining table.

The third time he returned to the kitchen was to retrieve their beer. She was already scooping the hot stew into a large bowl. She carried it carefully to the dining table, much to his helplessness.

Why couldn't she wait for him to carry it? Didn't she realize how hot it was? How dangerous it was to carry? What if she tripped over something and the hot liquid fell onto her? She would be in pain!

But despite of his worry, he did not dare to speak it out. He did, however, hover his hands just in case she fell down. Of vourse, he was not going to catch the bowl if incident happen but to catch her. He would not let her hurt.

”How's your work?” She asked as they took their seat. She noticed the worry in his eyes but did not point it out that she was not that fragile. He seemed to think she could not do anything now and anything and everything could hurt her, physically and mentally. It was something new that she still learned to accept. This side of his.

”It's okay. I had four meetings back to back,” he shrugged. His schedule for today was meetings and although he was the chairman of the meeting, he had to use his brain in order to understand the presentations as well as to point out what the others could improve in order to increase the success of the projects as well as to increase the profit. He also had to go to the agency to discuss the plan for the concert and checked the wardrobe. Overall, it was a tiring day for him but he could still maintain his good mood throughout the day because of her. The thought of her waiting for him at home brought excitement in him. A lot of his workers were tsken by surprise, especially his personal ȧssistant, Jacob, when he could not stop from grinning or rubbing his hands excitedly throughout the day. Who could blame him when he was just too happy with his life now. Even he did not, even once, scowl or scold his workers when they gave the wrong information or the project they proposed too stupid in his ears. He just pointed out the right information or helped them looking at a new perspective, and even encourage them not to feel down when they realise the proposal was too unrealistic to succeed.

”What about you?” He asked as he scooped some stew to give to her. ”Have you had any idea for the party?”

She put down the chopsticks she was holding and looked at him sadly. She actually forgot to do that. She was too sleepy to remember that she needed to have a plan as soon as possible. Time was ticking and the wedding was just days away.

”My love, if you don't want to join us, you do need to plan the party,” he gave her a look, ”quickly.”

”I know,” she murmured sadly. ”I don't think going to a club just to have a drink can make Mika happy.”

”No, she won't,” he agreed. He knew how his little sister like and a tame idea like he had in mind for Jeremy won't satisfy Mika. And knowing his little sister, Mika only wanted to spend time with Ryn alone to celebrate her last day as a single woman.

Ryn frowned, thinking hard of what to do.
