Chapter 528 - Steaks = happiness (2/2)
Out of sight. Out of mind.
She was immersed in her checking when she heard some knocking against the table she was sitting at. She lifted up her head and saw Harry smiling at her.
”You're here,” she said, smilingly gesturing for him to take a seat.
He took the seat facing her and nodded his head in thanks when the same manager approached them and handed the menu.
”What do you want to eat?” she asked before he could ask the same.
He lifted up his head and chuckled at her. Then, he looked back at the menu and started to order a set of today's special. He also asked for a beer to pair with the steak. Then, he handed the menu back to the manager and then watched as Ryn listed down several steaks she wanted to taste. A smile curled on his handsome face when he saw the manager trying to cover his shock at the number of steaks Ryn wanted to eat.
”You just shocked him, you know?” he told her once the manager left.
”So?” Ryn ċȯċked an eyebrow.
”Nothing,” he shook his head. She did not find it weird to shock others with her appetite.
How could she be so cute and adorable?
”So, how's your work?” Ryn asked. As a senior in the modeling industry, she wanted to make sure he did not waste his time doing meaningless jobs although it was impossible with Mei Li as his manager.
”So far okay,” he replied. He clasped his hands together and looked at her, ”What about you?”
”In a month I will go to Paris,” Ryn replied before frowning, ”I need to discuss my working schedule before I start my training.”
”You... you're going straight to practical training?” he gasped.
”Yeah. I've done all the credits I needed,” Ryn nodded. She actually took quite a lot of subjects during her first year because she needed to keep busy. She did not join Harry's classes because she has already done the subjects Harry was doing in her previous semester and passed them all. She only needed to have her practical training before she could graduate.
And she could not wait to graduate so she could focus on her work... or find something that could fulfill her interest and at the same time give her money. Regardless of what her parents said about money, she still believed money could help her be happy by buying all those steaks she wanted to eat.
Steaks = happiness
”So... do you need any help?” he asked, his heart pounding hard as he waited for her to ask for his help. He would prefer if she asked if she could do the training with him at his family's company.
”I don't think so,” her words made his hope crumble into tiny little pieces. Why was it so hard for her to ask for help? She knew he would do anything for her.
He looked at his hands gripped tightly under the table. He took a deep breath to calm down and smiled at her. There was no hint of the hurt on his face. ”So, where are you going to do your training? Have you applied?”
Never give up before trying, that was his motto.
”I'll be helping Mika,” Ryn answered truthfully. Mika already gave a hint that she wished to work with her and Ryn thought it was not wrong if she did her training there. While she was fulfilling the mandatory subject from the university to graduate and gain new experience, she could also help lighten Mika's workload. It would also help Mika toward full recovery, she believed.
”Oh,” came the short reply from Harry. Now went the chance he was looking for. It seemed like he really lost any chance to make them closer. He knew once they start their training, the only time he could see her was when they were doing the same projects in modeling... if she was to still work as one during practical training. His father already reminded him that he could continue to model but he could only do it when he has no work in the company. His father was determined to train him to inherit the company.
