Chapter 8: The ugly truth behind his past problems (1/2)

Li Qingzhao looked at Zhan Chen with a puzzled look in her face. She could see that Zhan Chen was serious and she had never seen her son so serious before. Zhan Qingyue and little Tao also looked at Zhan Chen with puzzled looks in their eyes.

”Mother, I actually never intended to talk with you about this but I want to make sure something. So, I am asking for your forgiveness in advance”, Zhan Chen looked at his mother with a serious look on his face.

He knew his words would reopen the wound in her mother's heart but he also wanted to her to learn the actual truth. So, he asked for his forgiveness in advance.

Li Qingzhao's brows furrowed slightly but she still nodded. ”Mother, Is Ziming Yue has anything again us?”, Zhang Chen looked at his mother with a serious look.

”Ziming Yue, which Ziming Yue? Are you talking about your aunt?”, Li Qingzhao asked in confusion.

”Yes mother, I am asking about that aunt of mine?”, Zhan Chen nodded his head.

”Why are you asking? Has she done something to you? Why are you using disrespectful words towards her? She is still your aunt”, Li Qingzhao furrowed her pretty brows.

”Mother, have you noticed one thing? I couldn't progress in my cultivation no matter how hard I have tried”, Zhan Chen asked with a profile look in his face.

Li Qingzhao nodded his head as it was the exact problem that was bothering her since a long time. Zhan Chen was initially a talented child. He attained the Meridian opening realm while he was only ten but he had no progress since then.

They had consulted with many alchemists but it was of no avail. Everyone was telling that Zhan Chen was normal but his talent most be worst. As, he couldn't progress a step even after cultivating for years.

”Do you know mother? From when I couldn't cultivate?

Li Qingzhao shook her head as she was indeed not sure about what happened to Zhan Chen.

”I couldn't cultivate since that incident in uncle's palace”, Zhan Chen looked at her mother's eyes.

Li Qingzhao became flustered after listening the words of Zhan Chan. ”Chen-er, what do you mean by it? You can't slander your uncle like this. He was harsh to you but you can't blame him. What you did with Yao-er was indeed not acceptable”, she blurred out.

”When did I say anything against uncle?”, Zhan Chen looked at his mother with a smile.

Li Qingzhao became speechless for a while then something striked her brain.

”Is it Ziming Yue? But how is it possible? She didn't do anything against you”, Li Qingzhao looked at him with confusion.

”Mother, My convergence meridian was fractured but I have not noticed it untill now. Now that I have recovered I can get a quick breakthrough. Then you will understand everything”, Zhan Chen spoke with confidence.

”Conversation meridian? Evan if it was fractured how can it be healed? Chen-er, are you trying to fool me”, a trace of anger appeared on the face of Li Qingzhao.
