Zac held her in his arms and said, ”Slow down. You have a baby now. You can't be as impatient as before.”

”Where is it?” Essie reached out her hand. She wanted to see the result first.

Zac seated her on the sofa. He poured her a glass of water before slowly opening his mouth, ”The doctor told me today that the baby has congenital heart disease and needs surgery.”

”Will it be dangerous?” Essie was shocked again.

”I don't know yet. The surgery won't be arranged until the lung development is fully developed two months later, so...” He paused, ”I... Haven't had a paternity test yet. ”
