Chapter 298: ...Why? (2/2)

The duo now waited if Ozul had anything else to say.

But instead of answering them, Ozul shot a look towards Haley, ”Is it done?”

”Yes young master. Fortunately, we didn't have to search outside the Neutral Lands,” Haley replied proudly.

The task he had given her could have taken months if they were unlucky. She couldn't help but feel overjoyed.

”Good. But... this is not a suitable place,” he said while taking a look around the floor, ”Let's move to the training ground. It is empty.”

Although they didn't understand how Ozul could tell that no one was in the training ground while sitting here, they still held no doubt to his words.

As he stood up to leave the tower, the duo followed right after him while Haley called for a man and gave him some instructions before also moving out.

...

Now in the training ground, Ozul waited together with Haley while Raven and Blaze could only stare at each other in confusion.

A minute passed before two men clad in black entered the ground with a third person.

The third man wore white clothes, the same as those priests of the Church of Light. However, his current dishevelled appearance was quite contradictory.

Snot and tears ruined the man's face. Together with the scrunched up expressions of the middle-aged man, he looked as if he was a well-dressed beggar instead.

”I am telling you people! Release me this instant! Do you even know who I am?!” the well-dressed beggar yelled while trying his best to release himself from the grip of the other two men.

Unfortunately for him, their grip didn't even budge at his resistance. Their strength was obviously a level above the beggar.

As he was brought closer to the group by the two men, Blaze finally had a clear look on the man's face, and his eyes couldn't help but widen with surprise.

It was obvious that he had recognized the man.

”Release the man,” Ozul ordered.

Following his words, the two men immediately released their grip and took a step back.

”What? Who are you?! Do you even-” the middle-aged men yelled while pointing his finger at Ozul. At the same time, he was taking a step back when he felt something prick the back of his neck.

His words were stuck in his mouth. Now that he looked back at the cold and indifferent eyes staring at him, he felt as if he were to make even a single movement; he would lose his life right then and there!

Not even daring to move a single muscle, the middle-aged man couldn't even move his eyes away from Ozul.

”You can leave,” Ozul said, looking at Haley.

Haley nodded her head and gave him a respectful bow before leaving the training ground together with the other two men dressed completely in black.

Although she was very much curious as to what Ozul wanted to do with this man, she did not dare to overstep her boundaries.

Now that they were alone, Ozul looked towards Blaze.

The latter's eyes were still fixated on the middle-aged man.

The rage that had been suppressed for years within his heart started to resurface as the surroundings started to get colder by the minute.

Years had passed, and although Blaze had come a long way since then, how could he forget the face of the person responsible for his misery all those years ago? The so-called priest who had labelled him as the Demon?

”There you have him. I had promised... you will have your revenge. Do whatever you want to.”

Leaving these words, Ozul walked out of the training ground.

He had promised Blaze that if this person was alive by the time he was strong enough, he would get his revenge. Now, he was more than strong enough.

Only after hearing Ozul's words did Raven start to make sense of what was happening.

She realized that it was Blaze's personal matter, so she also hurriedly followed behind Ozul. It wasn't their place to stay and watch what he did with this priest. It would have been a different situation if he wanted their help from here on out.

Now alone with the person he despised the most in this world, Blaze kept looking at the middle-aged man, holding himself back from instantly killing him.

Years later, the hate he felt for this man burned just as hot as it did back then.

Revenge was truly best served cold.

But before getting his revenge and killing this man, Blaze had a simple question he still needed to ask this man,

”...Why?”
