Chapter 22 (1/2)

Following the narrow corridor, Enoch finally came to the second floor of the villa.

Dust covered the corridor, leaving small footprints in the shape of plum blossoms after Enoch walked past.

It didn’t look like it was inhabited.

After going up to the second floor, Enoch already had doubts about the existence of survivors.

The dust clearly told him that no one had moved into this villa for a long time.

At the very least, no creatures had stepped foot in this corridor for a long time.

What was even more strange was that,

The sound on the second floor had never been heard again after the previous one.

Enoch began to suspect that he was too vigilant in the Black Fog and had hallucinated.

However,

Just as Enoch thought that there were no living things on the second floor, a hoarse and tender voice called out.

“Father?”

The small voice was especially obvious in this quiet environment!

Someone!

It was a child!

This time, Enoch was sure that he had not heard wrongly!

He quickly looked in the direction of the voice.

At the end of the corridor on the second floor!

The sound came from the tightly shut door!

Enoch instantly rushed to the door.

After approaching the door, Enoch was afraid of Love the children of the survivors.

He asked softly, “Are you still there? I’m a friend of your father.”

Enoch used a white lie to try to calm the child’s emotions.

However, after Enoch spoke, there was no answer in the room.

Instead, the sound of sharp objects rubbing against the floor could be heard again.

Enoch no longer hesitated. He twisted the door handle. After realizing that it was locked, he picked up the electric arc star and broke the door lock.

He pushed the door open.

Enoch looked inside the room, but he froze on the spot.

A little girl with waist-length hair was tied to a wooden chair in the room.

The wooden chair had fallen to the side. It should have been caused by a struggle.

As if she had not eaten for a long time, the little girl was skinny. Her slender body seemed to be easily broken if touched.

“Dad?”

The same soft voice sounded again.

However, Enoch did not move.

Instead, he followed his gaze and saw the system notification.

[Primary zombie]

[Combat level: E-]

[Description: A Monster from the Black Fog. It’s not a threat.]

The little girl looked like she was only seven or eight years old, but she had already turned into a zombie.

The calls were made out of instinct, but they were meaningless.

Enoch was dazed for a moment before he walked to the girl step by step. The electric arc star struck the back of her neck, ending her pain.

At this time, Enoch noticed the surrounding environment.

This should be the girl’s room. The room was mostly filled with family photos of three people. The man in the picture seemed to have the same eyebrows as the body downstairs.

Enoch’s guess was right. It was the shop owner.

He just didn’t know where the shop owner’s wife was.

In the photo, the family of three had smiles on their faces. It seemed that their lives were not bad. The woman and the little girl had long red hair that was not common.

Enoch looked at the girl’s body again.

There was an obvious bite mark on her slender left wrist.

The edge of the wound had clear blood lines climbing toward the girl’s head.

At this point, Enoch could roughly tell what had happened to the girl.

The girl must have been infected with the zombie virus when she was on the run. Her father brought her home and looked after her. There was no trace of blood on her clothes, and her hair was neatly combed.

It could be seen that her father took good care of her even after she became a zombie.

Until her father died.
