Chapter 30 (1/2)
What Should You Call Me?
“Alright, let’s not talk about it anymore.” Old Madam Xu patted Xu Jiaojiao’s head. “As long as my Jiaojiao is happy, I can rest assured.” As for that little b*stard Xu Zhengyang, his parents could worry about him.
It was getting late. A servant came over and asked, “Dinner is almost ready. May I know when Master Qi will arrive?”
For a moment, everyone’s gazes fell on Xu Jiaojiao. Xu Jiaojiao stood up and said, “I’ll call and ask.”
When Mrs. Xu saw that, she smiled and said, “Look, she’s embarrassed.”
Old Madam Xu’s complicated gaze fell on Xu Jiaojiao’s back.
Xu Jiaojiao walked out of the villa and stood under the street lamp, looking at her phone. She did not know how to make the call.
Just then, the sound of an engine came from the door. Xu Jiaojiao looked up and saw a car slowly driving over. After a while, it stopped in front of her.
After Qi Shenbai got out of the car, he buttoned up his suit and looked at Xu Jiaojiao. “Sorry, I’m late.”
Xu Jiaojiao shook her head. “No, the timing was just right.”
Pei Yan got out of the car and took out the things from the trunk. Both of his hands were full.
Xu Jiaojiao was surprised. “Why did you bring so many things?” As she spoke, she reached out to help Pei Yan carry them, but Qi Shenbai stopped her.
He carried two gift boxes and said, “It’s only correct etiquette not to come empty-handed.”
“Mr. Qi, thank you so much.” Xu Jiaojiao felt that Qi Shenbai was being very meticulous about this, so she was touched. “How much did the gifts cost? I’ll transfer the amount to you when we get back.”
Qi Shenbai stopped in his tracks. Xu Jiaojiao was following behind him, so she almost bumped into him. She looked up and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong? Why did you suddenly stop walking?”
Qi Shenbai turned around and met Xu Jiaojiao’s clear and bright eyes. His Adam’s apple moved slightly as he asked, “Are you going to call me Mr. Qi when we go in later?”
“Huh?” Xu Jiaojiao didn’t know how to answer this question. In front of her family, calling him Mr. Qi was indeed inappropriate, but… what else could she call him besides Mr. Qi?
