He’s Gone Too Far

Xu Jiaojiao was already in low spirits, but after they mocked and ridiculed her, her disappointment slowly dissipated. Her eyes were still red, but her gaze was very cold. “And I don’t care for Lu Zhuo, someone who changes his mind without the slightest sense of responsibility.”

“What did you say?!” Lu Huan exploded.

“I’m telling the truth. Since Lu Zhuo is still attached to his ex-girlfriend, I wish them a long and happy life. As for today’s wedding, cancel it. Our engagement is also over.” Xu Jiaojiao’s voice was loud and clear.

The Lu Family would not make good in-laws in the first place. For Lu Zhuo’s sake, she had been tolerating his mother and younger sister. Now that their engagement was canceled, she naturally did not have to take their attitude anymore.

Lu Zhuo’s mother’s expression instantly darkened. “You’re just a wild child from the countryside. What gives you the right to turn down my son? Our Lu Zhuo was so unlucky he had to get married to you. Perfect, now the engagement has been canceled. It was all your grandmother’s ploy to begin with. If she hadn’t forced my Lu Zhuo to get engaged to you in advance, using her old age as leverage, do you really think someone of your status can marry into our Lu family?”

Lu Huan chimed in, “That’s right. Your grandmother forced my brother to marry you just because she was about to die. You’re just as shameless as your grandmother…”

“Shut up!” Xu Jiaojiao’s expression suddenly turned cold. “If I hear another word of disrespect to my grandmother, I won’t hold back!”

Lu Huan had grown up in a pampered family. After Xu Jiaojiao scolded her, her temper flared up. “Is that a threat?! You’re just a wild girl, and you’re so fierce. No wonder my brother doesn’t like you…” As she spoke, she suddenly reached out and shoved Xu Jiaojiao.

Because of the ceremony, Xu Jiaojiao was wearing high heels today. Caught off guard by Lu Huan’s push, she lost her balance and fell backward.

Xu Jiaojiao panicked and subconsciously wanted to grab onto something. However, not only did Lu Zhuo’s mother and Lu Huan, who were closest to her, not reach out to support her, they even took a step back when they saw her reach out.
