52 Where Are We Going?

Cheng Lang replied, “The flight is at ten o’clock. Jian Yaochuan will pick you up.”

Xing Shu had no choice but to comply. She returned the cell phone to Nie Heng and thanked him. Then, she turned to look at Jiang Yao. “Something came up at the office. I have to make a move first.” Then, she looked at Jin Mo. “Senior, I haven’t thanked you for what happened three years ago. I’ll treat you to a meal when I have the chance.”

The smile on Jin Mo’s face faded a little, and his eyes darkened. “Alright, add me on WeChat first. I’ll contact you then.”

After adding Jin Mo as a friend, Xing Shu made some polite small talk before leaving. After she left, Jin Mo put down his phone and tilted his head to look at Nie Heng. “Little Canary?” The gentle smile on his lips had already faded. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking.

Nie Heng lifted the lid of the lighter and deftly lit a cigarette. “Why? Are you trying to gather intel for your sister again?”

Jin Mo said, “Jin Yue is nagging me so much. I can’t just sit back and do nothing.”

Nie Heng said, “Don’t worry. She’s just a temporary play thing.”

Jin Mo narrowed his eyes. Cheng Lang would keep a mistress? No matter what his motive was, she was a threat to Jin Yue. Jin Mo’s lips slowly curled up as he looked at the new friend on his phone—Xing Shu. This was going to be fun.

Jiang Yao had sneaked into the bar while the two of them were chatting. She planned to find her target—that top male celebrity—tonight, after she caught wind that he would be here.

Xing Shu returned to her apartment. She did not know where she was going or how many days she would be gone for the business trip. She prepared two sets of clothes, all the necessary documents and put on light makeup. Jian Yaochuan picked her up at seven o’clock.

Xing Shu opened the car door and saw Cheng Lang sitting quietly in the back seat. His eyes were closed and his head was slightly raised as he leaned against the customized headrest. He looked a little tired, but it did not affect his elegance at all.
