Chapter 29 (2/2)

After everyone alighted the vehicle, most of them had no intention of staying.

Some who were good at socializing and were more spontaneous invited everyone to drink and gather for dinner.

After all, they were the same batch of magisters considered to have good potential and passed the examination. They could broaden their network and benefit each other in the future.

For example, Austin and Catherine were the ones that they fought to befriend.

Austin was not interested in socializing.

While his younger sister followed whatever her brother says.

Thus, Austin rejected all of their invitations.

Austin looked at the fourth carriage again.

Unfortunately, he did not see what he wanted to see.

Could it really be my imagination?

Austin shook his head.

The assistant examiner who came back with the ‘Fire Dragon’ transport said, “You can all make your leave. Remember to go to the Magister Association to receive your official magister bronze medal.”

Someone asked, “Examiner, regarding the recruitment after the exam…?”

The assistant examiner glanced at him and said, “If any important figures or factions are interested in you, they will contact you.”

“Now, I’m going to report to General Lu on what happened in Vicious Beast Town.”

Since the town got attacked, they needed to report the situation to their superiors.

With nothing else to do, everyone dispersed.

Some went to drink and gather together in groups.

Some went to relax.

Some, like Austin and Catherine, went back to their homes.

Once they were out of the transport station, Austin phoned his father and mother to tell them they were safe.

Then he went home with Catherine.

As soon as they stepped in, the aroma of their mother’s cooking in the kitchen filled the house.

Their father sat in a chair facing the door with his eyes fixed on it.

When he heard the door open, he immediately stood up to open it.

Seeing the door open, he sat down again.

“Alright. It’s good that you’re all back with no arms or legs lost.”

The loving father’s eyes were red as he nodded.

“Are our children back?”

The wife, who was cooking in the kitchen, heard the sound and came out immediately.

She stepped forward and hugged Austin and Catherine as hot tears streamed down her face.

“I’m so relieved that both of you are fine. You must’ve lost weight, and who knows how much you’ve suffered.”

Catherine said coquettishly, “Mom, we didn’t suffer.”

“We went to Vicious Beast Town for a day. And we ate quite a few meals of grilled meat.”

“Now that I see meat, I just want some vegetarian food for a change.”

Her mother rolled her eyes at Catherine and said, “Silly child, don’t try to lie to make me happy.”

“Yesterday, your father and I spent the day trying to find out how difficult and brutal the official magister exam was.”

“Surviving is a difficult task, not to mention eating grilled meat.”

Austin replied, “Mom, aren’t we back safe and sound?

“Alright, alright. Let’s go to the kitchen. I’ll help you.”

Faye City. Red-light district.

Magisters lived on the edge of a blade, and thus many who returned to the base city alive would choose to have fun and relax.

Hence, it brought about the red-light district.

There were many dark alleys on the colorful streets.

Some gorgeously dressed women stood at the entrance of the alley, soliciting customers.

A magister, who had returned from the Vicious Beast Town today, approached a flashy woman.
