10 The Next Day (1/2)
A suitcase, a backpack, a sword, two history books, as well as food and cash resources.
That's what the Weiler gave Hector. The young man did not blame them for throwing him out and even for throwing him out with just the bare minimum to live; or rather, he could not blame them, he himself had experienced the pain of losing a loved one several times after all. And he hadn't had such a wise reaction.
Helena had the intelligence to give a history book to Hector so that he could study and learn everything about the world around him, one of the books talked about the history of Dentelia, the other was a huge encyclopedia of several kilograms called: Encyclopedia of Parar.
The reincarnated had directly begun to open them on the road that brought him to his new home, but he still had difficulty getting used to the language even if he could read it.
During his relocation, he was accompanied by Erwin who carried all his belongings and by Amy who signed a contract with the Weilers and Hector to make her the young man's personal maid. Of course, she had not done this only by kindness, her pay had been increased. Erwin would stay with Hector until a personal bodyguard was found for him, but in the meantime, two members of Captain Lena's squadron were in charge of the security of the rest of the Weiler family.
The material transported had very quickly been stored in the house in which they were all about to live. The longest thing was to clean everything up; the place had not been inhabited for several years and dirt and cobwebs had invaded the place. It took two days for the three acolytes to dust the house completely; the sheets and other bedding had to be washed and cleaned to avoid suffocating in a cloud of dust after lying on a bed.
Hector had found the house large for an old maid's house, it was not nearly as big as the Weiler's house, but still had four bedrooms and all the other rooms essential for a healthy lifestyle.
They had now been moving in for three days and Hector was already getting bored despite the information he had received. The orders he had to follow was to not go outside until the investigation being conducted by the various squadrons found the reasons for the deliberate attack on Vaine and the Weiler family.
Krein had been very clearly targeted, the original host had been woken up by a fireball that had passed through a window in his room, this fireball had melted part of the ceiling, which had fortunately not started a fire, but this had drawn a burn on the chest of the young man who was still present to this day.
When the Weiler family tried to flee, several arrows shot from a very long distance passed within a few centimeters of Krein and his mother, fortunately, the night wind had slightly shifted the arrow path, otherwise, Krein would have had his skull split and Helena one leg missing. Then, after thinking he saw the girl he loved in danger, Krein went to try to help her but was bombarded with blows by the \”soldiers\” who attacked the village. That's when he managed to escape in the hope of finding the trace of the person he was looking for, but after only a few seconds, a hooded figure slashed his throat with a sword.
Until a few hours ago, no one knew where the young woman loved by Krein was, until this day of Biel 11 Mibi; some thought she was a prisoner and others thought she was dead.
The answer was given by Gregory who was the first to discover the body.
This woman, the one Krein loved, was called Leila Saranel.
Gregory's eldest daughter.
She was 22 years old.
Her inanimate body was discovered lying with the throat cut near the Astrée River where Captain Lena's squadron had conducted their research on the spy a few days before the attack on Vaine.
The news had been coming to Hector and Amy's ears for several hours and apparently, Gregory had apparently been forced to be asleep to calm him down, as it had brought up old memories and trauma. Following all this flood of information, Hector decided to sit in the living room as Amy was reading a book called: The Thorns of Roses.
He turned to her trying to get her attention.
\”About the errands we have to do, I think I'm going to go, I'm bored to death.\”
\”Well, read your history book.\” she said, looking up from her book. \”Erwin comes back tomorrow, just wait until he comes back to protect you.\”
\”I wasn't the one complaining that we were almost out of food.\” he replied with the hope of making her react.
\”Olala… Well, well. I was lazy to go, but well…\” Amy blew as she closed her book. \”I'm going to go alone if anyone ever finds out you went out without permission, I'm the one who's going to have problems, so please stay here.\”
