He did not ask why nor did he inquire when and if Di Yi would even return. Xia Jiannan just directly told Di Yi to buy him 'his' favorite flowers.

But why would Xia Jiannan do that?

Wang Rouxi could only blankly stare at Xia Jiannan then until the elevator doors fully closed.

Even after thinking about it for a long time, she could not think of any plausible explanation for Xia Jiannan's sudden request. She could only turn and leave the building to finish her task at hand.

Sitting inside an expensive car, the newly dressed Wang Rouxi pushed these thoughts at the back of her mind.

Now was not the time to think about these things.

Wang Rouxi did not forget what she came here for.

If Xia Jiannan had only listened closely to what his grandfather had said yesterday, he would be puzzled as to why there were two bodyguards who came today.

Lu Sha was supposedly the only bodyguard assigned to Xia Jiannan.

However, yesterday's incident made Wang Rouxi vigilant against their pursuers. She was not clear about their motives as of yet.

And sure enough, they did encounter them again today.

Wang Rouxi's actual purpose for posing as Xia Jiannan's bodyguard was to ascertain if the target was indeed Xia Jiannan or her.

Now that she had achieved her intention, it was only right for her to take a step back and let Lu Sha handle the rest.

But of course, she would not just leave it at that.

”Take care of them.”

It was merely a four-word command, but as soon as it was issued, the whole organization was set into motion.

After all that was done, Wang Rouxi glanced up at the tall and magnificent gates of the Northern Sky Palace. But she didn't enter yet and instead parked her car at the side of the road.

Just as Wang Rouxi was putting her phone away, another notification came through.

It was a message notification from Secretary Sun.

Speaking of her secretary, Wang Rouxi suddenly remembered something.

With her left hand resting on the steering wheel, Wang Rouxi used her right hand to speed dial Secretary Sun's phone number.

The call had not even rung for a second time when a disgruntled voice came through. ”Miss Rouxi...”
