Chapter 41 (1/2)
Noticing the angry glare, Tang Yan hemmed and took a couple of steps back.
“Had I known she was your legendary ex, I wouldn’t have approached her.”
“You slighted me.”
“Let’s just pretend as if nothing happened.”
When things had come to such a pass, how could he treat it like nothing had happened before?
If it was possible, Mu Bai would not have been this furious.
Probably Tang Yan was the only person who could come up with such a lousy suggestion.
“I need to go now! I have something to do.”
Seeing the livid expression on Mu Bai’s face, Tang Yan figured that leaving was the best option.
As he turned around, he saw Shi Yu heading their way.
Not wanting to implicate the innocent, Tang Yan scurried up to him. “Young Master Mu is worried about not getting married. Don’t mess with him. Let’s go and have a drink.”
Drinking in the early morning?
Shi Yu ignored him, his keen eye scanning around. His body language signaled as if he was looking for someone. Just that he failed to find the person he was looking for.
Tang Yan was first slighted by the woman, then berated by Mu Bai, and now ignored by Shi Yu. He suddenly felt like he would not love again.
“Who are you trying to kill with your sullen eyes?”
Shi Yu finally glanced at him, but his words were unpleasant.
Tang Yan shot him with a prideful look. “Are you trying to stick your nose in me?”
Shi Yu had sensed something from his tone, his good-looking lips curling up. “It’s not like you are dumped by a woman for the first time. Don’t get so depressed and think of killing yourself. Buying a funeral wreath is expensive in this age of booming economy.”
“You are the one being dumped. Your whole family is being dumped! I won’t die even if you do!”
Tang Yan was foaming at the mouth. He was the one who dumped women. Since when did women dump him?
Kill himself? He was thinking too highly of him.
“Only women use anger to cover shame,” Shi Yu said as she made a faint smile.
