Xiu Mei ”...”

Xiu Mei looked at him awkwardly, but he was standing there with a stoic face as if he didn't hear any of this shit.

'What husband and wife?'

'What cute couple?'

'Eye candy? He is a monster… if you want to take him home'

'He takes care of me? Never'

'Love in voice when scolding? No bloody ways'

'Making kids with him… Better to jump in the river'

Unable to digest such comments Xiu Mei feels nauseous, she wanted to clear this doubt as soon as possible, so she turned towards them and said politely, ”We are not what you are thinking… He is not any of these to me; we are just acquaintances… so please stop this nonsense and go do your own work.”

Until now Feng Jianyu did not bother about these strangers comments, but he did not like it when Xiu Mei cleared it. He was displeased with her behavior.

'Why does she have to clear this in front of irrelevant people?'

'Does she hate me so much?'

'Is she blaming me for what happened 7 years back?'

'But I didn't do anything… It was her fault'

'This women is unfathomable'

Feng Jianyu's eyebrows were twisted together and he was looking towards her intricately.

Xiu Mei took the cart from Feng Jianyu's hand and proceeded for the billing counter. She opened her purse and take out a card for the payment, but before she could hand over her card to the sales assistant Feng Jianyu took out a black diamond card and handed over to the sales assistant.

”Swipe this card”, Feng Jianyu ordered the SA.

”NO... Swipe mine”, Xiu Mei forwarded her card.

”I said DO IT”, He said sternly to SA.

”NO… I don't want to take a favor from you… I am already paying for one”, she retorted back.

Feng Jianyu took her card from her hand and kept it in his pocket. Then he waved his card to SA.

The sales assistant was already scared of Feng Jianyu's eyes and he immediately swiped his card without any further delay.

Xiu Mei huffed in anger and started putting their bags in the cart. Then she pushed the cart outside the supermarket without waiting for him.

Feng Jianyu was silently following her, he knew she is upset. Reaching the parking lot she unlocked the car and started loading the bags in the car's trunk. He approached her from the side and started helping her to put the bags in the car's trunk.

They both sat in the car and left the supermarket.

Xiu Mei was driving and Feng Jianyu was sitting beside her. As usual, there was silence between them. To break this silence Xiu Mei wanted to play some music so she asked him, ”You mind if I play music?”

”NO”

She pressed the music and a soothing love song started to resonate in the car. It was Howie Day- Collide.

The dawn is breaking

A light shining through
