At last, when it became hard to stay in the room, he walked out of the room. Corridor lights turn on automatically, marking his presence as he walked down the stairs. Walking into the kitchen, he switches on the flame to heat a cup of milk and added a pinch of cinnamon to it.

But soon he sensed someone's presence in the kitchen. Thanks to his special training, he is always vigilant of his surroundings. His brows furrowed as he paid attention to the minute sound coming from under the kitchen counter. It sounded like a slurping sound as if someone was licking something.

Clenching his fists tightly, he braced himself to beat this intruder black and blue. As soon he crouched down positioning himself defensively, a beautiful angel like figure clenched her eyes tightly as she jumped in fear.

”Mei??”

Sitting under the counter, holding a big bucket of Chocolate caramel ice cream in her hands, she was looking like a kid who got caught stealing food. Feng Jianyu's heart melts like the very ice-cream at the sight of her frightened rabbit look.

Licking the ice-cream from her lips, she peeked opening her right eye. She blinked multiple times at the man in front of her before snapping out from her thoughts.

”What the hell? Feng Jianyu, don't you know how scary you're? You should not lurk around in the middle of the night; beautiful girls like me are scared of horrible creatures.” Xiu Mei advised her seriously, ”Please…. Stay in your room at night. If Uncle Tom or Aunt Mary sees you roaming in the night, I don't think their old heart can withstand this pressure.”

Feng Jianyu ”...”

He narrowed his eyes sharply at her and retorts back, ”Really?? Pot calling the kettle black!! Look at you, with this white attire, open hair, cherry red lips, Uncle Tom and Aunty Mary can take you as a white witch. Don't you think they'll die of heart attack looking at you, roaming in the house?”

They both looked at each other's clothes and then their own clothes. Indeed, Feng Jianyu was wearing all black silk pajama set with 'FJ' printed on the front pocket, while Xiu Mei was wearing white silk nightdress with 'XM' printed on the left side. Making it looks like couple outfits. Feng Jianyu was a black monster while Xiu Mei was a white witch.

Finding their banter funny, Xiu Mei bites her lips trying to suppress her laugh. But eventually, they both ended up smiling at the situation. Feng Jianyu's heart skipped a beat looking at her mesmerizing smile. He forgets about everything that had happened throughout the day and surrendered himself completely to the ecstasy of the moment.

He proffered his hand towards her, ”Come out my chipmunk…” Xiu Mei eyes him sternly at this endearment, ”Don't call me chipmunk!”

Feng Jianyu lovingly brushes her nose, ”That's what you are! Only a chipmunk eats food by stuffing it in cheek pouches.” Xiu Mei snorts at this.

”Anyway… What's with the Ice-cream? Late night craving?” he asked.

”Tsk… Nightma….. Cough…. I mean, yes… Late night craving” She answered. However, he caught the real truth which almost came out of her mouth.

”And you?” she asked and he truly answered, ”Sleeplessness….”

She looked at the milk pan and asked surprisingly, ”You drink milk to treat sleeplessness?”

”What's with the surprising reaction?” He asked as he pours the warm milk in the glass.

”No…. I thought you'd prefer wine or whiskey!” she answered licking the ice-cream from the spoon.

Feng Jianyu smiled, ”No… I drink alcohol at business meetings, parties, and sometimes with Wang Shi. Other than that I try my best to avoid it” Xiu Mei was impressed hearing this.
