”Sorry”, Feng Jianyu placed a kiss on her temple and caressed her back gently to coax her back to sleep, ”Sleep, I'm here”

But Xiu Mei had come awake due to the phone vibration felt against her body combined with Jianyu's tight grip. Feeling groggy she looked around with half open eyes, ”My phone. I felt vibration… Who called?”

Feng Jianyu's expression darkened, as he uttered, ”Your boss called. But sleep for now. You can talk to him tomorrow.”

”Huh? X? I forgot, he must be worried about me. Let me call him now” She got up immediately and pushed herself down from Feng Jianyu's lap before he could say something else. ”I forget to inform him before leaving the company.”

Grabbing her phone from his hands she promptly dialed Xion's number…..

”Hey”

Xion: ”Mei where are you? Are you ok? I came to check on you in your lab, but as usual, you vanished. Could you please stop giving me these mini heart attacks? At least inform me before going somewhere, and especially in this condition, you should not go out alone. What if there's another fainting episode? Who will take care of you? The doctor has advised you to take complete rest, but you just have to hop around the entire world. Who the hell you think you are? A wonder woman? Can't you...….”

”Mmm….. X? Stop nagging me, my ear hurts” She snapped before Xion could continue any more of his rambling. ”I was sleeping a while ago and no thanks to your irritating voice, I won't be able to go back to sleep… and now my head hurts too” saying she rubbed her forehead.

Xion: ”You were sleeping? Are you at home? When did you leave? Why didn't you asked me to accompany you? I would have dropped you personally, or you might have taken the chopper.”

”Argh… X! I'm fine… At home… As for the rest of the questions, talk to you later.” She answered hastily and Xion could only comply, ”Fine, rest for now. I'll talk to you later”

Sitting on the side Feng Jianyu was staring at her like a bloodthirsty vampire. All his negative emotions and insecurity collided with his rationale to jolt her and ask about this Xion.

He was not an idiot, and could clearly see the weight of Xion's importance in her life. Just what did he do exactly to be valued by her so much? No matter how much he tried to pacify himself with various excuses, but he cannot calm down his heart. Although everything is fine between him and Xiu Mei, what if the situation turns back to how it was before.

Technically their relationship is not even started yet, it's still fragile. And this so- called boss of Xiu Mei is too much of a headache. With all his previous fears of losing her, he could not bear to add on to his list of risks.

”…mmm…. Feng Jianyu… What happen? Why the dark face?” asked Xiu Mei, rubbing her eyes. But soon he clasped her hands tightly, ”Uh huh. Don't rub” He wrapped his arms around her, bringing her back on his lap.

With her head leaning against his chest, he asked carefully, ”What happen? Does your boss nag you often? Is he not treating you fairly?” Although Feng Jianyu heard the conversation of both sides clearly as she was sitting close to him, he choose to act oblivious to let her tell him at her will.
