”No, I wanted to tell you but circumstances didn't allow me,” Xiu Mei said and Lu Xion interrupted, ”or maybe you ran away when the chances came by”

”Yeah… You can say that” She pressed her lips and Lu Xion chuckled easing the heavy atmosphere ”Sorry for lashing out. I won't do anything against Kong Da, not untill your goals are achieved. Happy?”

”Happy. But promise me you won't tell anything to grandpa. I don't want his health to be affected”

Lu Xion playfully zipped his mouth earning a chuckle from her. ”Along with Jianyu's security, my men will accompany you too” He got up to fix his suit.

”No way”

”Shut up! No one match up to my men's capabilities. It's no harm taking few extra bodyguards”

”X? Wait…. Just listen…..”

”By little tomato”

She saw him leaving without allowing her to oppose the decision.

After having dinner with Mr. Qiao, Xiu Mei came back to the penthouse, slowly walking on her own. Bai Xin volunteered to help her but she pushed her back saying she is not a cripple who needs help.

After the bath she was standing by the balcony, blowing her wet hair, looking at the luminous lights reflecting from the houses and buildings in front of her. Standing at the top floor of one of the tallest buildings in the city, makes everything look so small.

”You all right?” Feng Jianyu questioned placing a warm blanket over her shoulders before hugging her from behind. He lifted her up a little to make her stand on his feet so that she does not strain herself. She nodded her head, pushing a strand of hair away from her face, ”Hm! Just tired”

”Then let's sleep”

”I want to stay here a little longer. It's so peaceful here”

Feng Jianyu kissed her on the cheek before picking her up, ”Then let's sit and talk” They both sat down in the corner where a special seating arrangement on the floor was made. Xiu Mei sat in between Jianyu's legs with him facing her back, and on the order of Xiu Mei, he wrapped the blanket around both of them.

After a couple of minutes of silence, Jianyu cocked his face and looked down, ”Why are you so quiet? Does something happen at dinner?”

”No, nothing. Mr. Qiao is a gentleman and so as his son. They both took my rejection sportingly and understood that this project is already signed with some other company. However, he tried to poach me to his company by offering triple salary”

”And how you tackled it?”

”By rejecting” She chuckled and turned to sit face to face with the man by straddling him. ”Just imagine Mr. Qiao's reaction when he'll know that I'm the President of R-Tech”

”Million dollar reaction” He smiled but Xiu Mei sensed it was forced. ”I'm fine. Can you stop behaving like this? I'm not used to this sad Jianyu”
