Xiu Mei broke the hug to check the message. This was the special tone she set for Feng Jianyu's message.
A tiny smile appeared on her lips as she opened the message, soon blush settled on her cheeks, accompanying the smile. Zeng Shihong's eyebrow rose up by his little granddaughter's reaction.
Been there, done that… During his time it was his beloved wife's love letters that used to make him smile for no reason. He was sure it must be something from that Feng rascal.
She glances up from her phone making a pity face, ”It's really late. I should leave now”
”I know you are ditching me for that Feng guy. Must you go tonight? I want to spend more time with you” Zeng Shihong tried to get up and she instantly helped him with his walking stick and walked along.
”Some other time! He is waiting for me outside the estate” She pulled her lower lip inside right after saying this.
”In that case, I should meet him. Call him inside”
”NOOOO!” Xiu Mei blurted out, panicking to the core. ”Let me discuss with him first. I promise I'll bring him to meet you but not today. Please…. Give me some time. Moreover, you need time to investigate about Feng Jianyu. Right?”
Knowing how possessive Zeng Shihong is, she was sure he would send his best man to investigate about Feng Jianyu and his family, inside out.
”Hm! Smart girl!” He summoned the housekeeper and instructed him to arrange the car to drop her before waving goodbye.
”Don't forget Xiao Mei, I'm yet to accept your man. He better not disappoint me”

Xiu Mei stepped out of the car and spotted Feng Jianyu not too far away, standing with his back leaned against the car, legs crossed, looking as handsome as always.
She rushed to him; Feng Jianyu immediately took her tightly into his embrace.
The way she was slightly trembling he guessed that the old man must have opposed their relationship.
”It's okay love…. I'm here…. It's normal for him to react adversely after knowing something as big as this. Rest assured I'll talk to Mr. Zeng”
Xiu Mei held onto Feng Jianyu with all her might. ”It's okay, love…. You have me… If Mr. Feng is not willing to answer anything about my father, please don't trouble yourself because of me, I know how much you value him. Rest assured, I'll talk to Mr. Feng”
Feng Jianyu body stiffened when he heard her speak against his shirt, her voice was muffled but he heard each word correctly. Pushing her by shoulder he tried to look at her face but she adamantly refused to let go of his warm embrace. At this moment, it was the much-needed hug for the man instead of her.
”Hug me back, silly, you need it more than me,” She said, clasping her hands behind Feng Jianyu's back tightly.
