Chapter 549 - Longhu is Injured (1/2)
Almost every Prince knew clearly that the First Prince and the Third Prince did not share a friendly relationship with one another.
“First Brother, I’m here.” The Third Prince spoke with a calm expression, breaking the silence.
“Why are you sitting there?” The First Prince appeared to be shocked. He immediately waved his hand and said, “Come come, you’re my Third Brother. You should be sitting here with me. Does it even make sense that you’re sitting there?”
The other princes remained silent.
At that instant, the Ninth Prince said with a calm smile, “Third Brother, Eldest Brother is right. You should be sitting close to Eldest Brother.”
The words took many princes by surprise. Could it be that the Ninth Prince and the First Prince had formed an alliance?
That was not the case. Lately, the Third Prince had been making several moves, and acquired huge benefits from various competitions that had taken place between them. Even their father had greatly complimented him.
The First Prince and the Ninth Prince were not stupid at all. The Third Prince had purposely pretended to be weak over the past few years. It was most likely that he had been waiting for the perfect time to strike.
However, how would the Third Prince be tripped easily when he had had the guts and patience to stay out of the scene for the past few years. He replied with a gentle smile, “Thanks for the clarification. I don’t mind at all to be honest, and besides, Eldest Brother has already mentioned that we’re all here to enjoy ourselves.”
“Sigh, that’s fine since you’ve made up your mind. I will still leave the seat open for you.” The First Prince let out a sigh.
The Ninth Prince, Song Yu, did not give up; he suddenly said, “Third Brother, I heard that the genius you’ve invited is Duan Qing from the Vermilion Bird Platoon?”
The words immediately grabbed the attention of the crowd.
In particular the geniuses from the White Tiger Platoon, whose eyes were filled with icy looks.
The White Tiger Platoon had given them the order to trouble Duan Qing and test his cultivation if they stumbled into him.
The Third Prince’s expression remained calm as he transmitted his voice to Qin Nan, “Duan Qing, I’ve been waiting and preparing myself for many years, thus I’m ready to flip the tables at any time. Don’t worry about me, if they are trying to challenge you, feel free to respond at your own will. I will look after you no matter the consequences!”
“No problem.”
Qin Nan’s eyes flickered. The words from the Third Prince were just what he needed. He immediately took a step forward and appeared before the crowd, before he brought his fists together and said, “Greetings, princes and fellow geniuses. I’m Duan Qing.”
“So he’s Duan Qing?”
“Tsk tsk.”
“I didn’t even see him just now!”
The gaze of the crowd landed onto Qin Nan’s figure. Some among the geniuses and princes with various eye-techniques tried to scan his figure, but the outcome was disappointing.
The First Prince’s expression turned dark.
How did Ninth Brother know that Third Prince had recruited Duan Qing when he himself was clueless until now?
Song Yu had no idea that Duan Qing was Qin Nan whom he was desperately looking for. He brought his fists together and said with a smile, “It’s only been two months since we last met at the Vermilion Bird Platoon. To my surprise, you have skyrocketed and became Platoon Leader Zhou’s successor. I’m deeply impressed, however…”
He paused his speech.
The crowd squinted their eyes.
“Cultivator Duan Qing, I believe you have some outstanding capabilities since Platoon Leader Zhou is so fond of you. If that’s the case, I suggest a ‘Wine Contest’ between you and Platoon Leader Long Tian of the Black Tortoise Platoon’s ninety-ninth batch of disciples. How’s that?” Song Yu slowly spoke.
The crowd was startled, before they glanced at Duan Qing with mocking looks.
They had not expected Song Yu to suggest a ‘Wine Contest’ between Duan Qing and Long Tian.
The Wine Contest was a form of competition between geniuses among the royal family of the Sky-Scorching Ancient Kingdom. The two geniuses would hold wine cups in their hands, and push the cups to their opponent using various Martial Arts and techniques. If their rival failed to catch the cup, they had to drink the wine in the cup.
Normally, in gatherings of geniuses like this, or in feasts of the royal family, the princes would compete with one another through Wine Contests.
The First Prince gave Song Yu an admiring look after hearing the words.
He was more than happy to let the Ninnth Prince deal with the Third Prince while he remained a spectator.
As a matter of fact, Song Yu was feeling quite helpless. He had no intention to fight against the Third Prince, but he had no choice as the Platoon Leader of the Black Tortoise Platoon had requested for him to test Qin Nan’s cultivation.
After all, Duan Qing had suddenly appeared like a comet.
Therefore, various factions of the Sky-Scorching Ancient Kingdom were interested in knowing more information about him.
How strong exactly was this Duan Qing? Was he able to match the talents of Di Fengyun?
“A wine contest?” Qin Nan’s eyes flickered with a strange look, before he spoke, “I don’t mind at all.”
After hearing this, the princes straightened their faces.
Meanwhile, Longhu was busy flirting with one of the princesses, thus he was clueless as to what was taking place.
Song Yu immediately wore an awkward expression as he transmitted his voice, “Long Tian, go compete against him in a Wine Contest. If you end up winning, I’ll introduce my sister to you.”
“Introduce your sister to me?”
Longhu immediately collected his thoughts and rose from his seat, before uttering a roar, “Who’s competing against me in the Wine Contest? Bring it on! Your grandpa Long will teach you some manners!”
The roar was accompanied by the suppression of a dragon, causing the hearts of the crowd to shudder violently.
