The annoying Xiao Shen is gone, He Ji Fan’s mood is getting better. He asks for a wine to drink.

After the settling the bill for the dinner, He Ji Fan is incumbent.

Ye Qing Xin has a car, He Ji Fan also brings his car too. Three of them go out of the restaurant. Dou Weir rushes and says: “Xin Xin send me back home. It’s been a long time since we chatted. I want to say something to you.”

“You could say it later. I have matters to do near Zhong Hua Yuan. It’s convenient for me to send you over.” He Ji Fan says, he looks at Ye Qing Xin. He gives a signal for her.

Ye Qing Xin knows that He Ji Fan has done a lot for Old Madame. There’s a day that Old Madame Dou had a sudden outbreak. Dou Weir was abroad that time. Dou Jin Wen and family were traveling. It’s He Ji Fan who spent his money, heart, and energy. Day and night he took care of her. For this matter Old Madame Dou didn’t let anyone tell Dou Weir to disturb her work.

In the past, He Ji Fan had a lot of ugly pasts with his girlfriends. Ye Qing Xin didn’t approve them to be together. But now it’s clear that he is sincere and serious toward Dou Weir. Moreover, Dou Weir seems to have feeling toward him. She just doesn’t want to admit as she is afraid to be hurt again.

So Ye Qing Xin doesn’t mind to help.

“With my current condition, how could she have heart to let me sent you home?” Ye Qing Xin holds her baby bump. She says: “This period of time Biao Ge (He Ji Fan) has taken care of Old Madame Dou, shouldn’t you thank him for it?”

Ye Qing Xin says those words near Ye Qing Xin’s ear side. Dou Weir looks at He Ji Fan. She straightens her lips and says: “Xin Xin, since when you have been friend with him?”

Ye Qin Xin holds Dou Weir’s hand and says: “Sometimes forgetting the past will make you able to go forward.”

Dou Weir understands what Ye Qing Xin says, but she is afraid. She is afraid to let it go and get something that she doesn’t want too.

“It’s been two months since we met each other, do you miss me?” He Ji Fan drives his car while holds Dou Weir’s hand.

Dou Weir doesn’t struggle, she just lets her to hold it. She acts like she doesn’t hear his words.

She doesn’t answer, yet He Ji Fan doesn’t mind it. He just ignores her annoyed expression. He lifts up her hand and kisses it.

Dou Weir: “….”

When they arrive at Zhong Hua Yuan, Dou Weir retrieves her hand. She looks at He Ji Fan and says seriously: “These period of time, thank you for going to the hospital and accompanying my Nai Nai. I will remember your kindness. In the future if you have something, you could tell me.”

She pauses and continues: “Thank you for sending me off. Bye.”

“Weir.” He Ji Fan listens to her polite remark and says: “I did all of these, not only for your thankfulness, I also don’t expect for you to help me in the future You know my intention clearly, why should you pretend not to know.”

Dou Weir is silent.

“Weir, I already give you long time to see. Now I should get answer from you.”

“He Ji Fan, do you know why did I break up with you?”

“Why?” He Ji Fan is confused too.

“Because I fell in love with you, He Ji Fan.” Dou Weir looks away. “Sometimes after we m*d* love, I hugged you. I kept on imagining the time we would marry. I will wear a beautiful wedding dress. I walk in the middle toward you. I am so happy.”

“Perhaps we don’t have kids, we would spend time together. Perhaps we will have kids, we could bring them stroll around the garden, zoo…..”

“But all of these just vanished, the time I heard you call a friend. You said to your friend. You never think about marry, you just want to play around. How irony is it. At first, it’s you who threw yourself into this relationship but at last, it’s only me. All along you just maintain your personal integrity.”

He Ji Fan looks at Dou Weir, he couldn’t see her expression clearly but he could notice her disappointment.

“If you said those words two years ago, I would be so happy that I couldn’t sleep. But these two years, a lot of things have changed, including my desire.”

“Weir……”

He Ji Fan wants to say something but Dou Weir cuts him off: “I’m very grateful for your care for my Nai Nai. But it wouldn’t be my reason to start a new relationship with you. You said that you like me, you want to be together iwth me. You even want to marry me. But I don’t want it. It’s not because I get in a huff, but I’m really unwilling.”

“Two years ago I just wanted to be with you forever, but now I want more and for what I want you, you couldn’t give it to me.”

He Ji Fan smokes his cigarette. He still could smell her remaining scent inside his car.

Dou Weir is standing in front of her window and looks at the car. She watches the car leaves. Then she just releases her breath.

She gives a call to Old Madame Dou and informs her that she is back. Then she takes a shower. She doesn’t dry her hair and just covers it with her towel. She falls asleep.

But this sleep is too tiresome, she keeps on having a dream. She dreams about the time she was drunk and did it with He Ji Fan. She dreams about how she was betrayed by her friend and almost raped by a stranger. She dreams about how she took He Ji Fan’s card and shopped. She dreams about her time with He Ji Fan.

At last she dreams about how He Ji Fan kneels on one of his knee, he lifts up a jewelry box with five carat ring. He is proposing to her. Her tears fall down, she doesn’t know what to do. People around her ask her to take it. She hesitates and extends her hands. He puts on the ring on her ring finger. Then she wakes up. There’s a bell. It keeps on ringing.

Dou Weir sits down for a while and then gets off the bed to open the door.

“Why are you just opening the door? What are you doing at home? My leg is numb standing here.” Hu Jing holds up shopping bags and wants to get inside. But Dou Weir doesn’t move. Hu Jing keeps on mumbling. “You are too much, why are you changing your key? I want to clean up for you but I cannot. I and your Ge are so kind to you. It’s okay if you aren’t grateful t us, but how could you act like we are thieves.”

“Your Ge knows that you are home, he is afraid that you would be hungry so he asked me to go buy some food and cook for you. How could you have so kind and loving cousin? He wants to help you a lot.”

Dou Weir sleeps till night, it’s already 07:00 p.m.

Before she went abroad, she changed her house key. If not, she couldn’t imagine how her house would look like being left for two months.

Dou Weir says nothing. She just watches Hu Jing.

Hu Jing is unhappy: “What are you doing? I come over to be your maid and I still need to beg you?”

“No one asks you to be a maid.” Dou Weir doesn’t act politely. “I also don’t plan to eat at home. I would go to the hospital to visit Nai Nai. I think for these food…” She examines. “It’s better for you to take it home and eat it.”

“How could you a thankless wretch? I’m your Sao Zi, I come over to visit you. I don’t mind that you don’t serve me tea, but you don’t even let me in?”

“I don’t have many clothes or jewelries for you to take.”

Hu Jing’s face changes: “Dou Weir, what do you mean?”

Hu Jing places her foot near the door. “Today you should explain to me clearly. What do you mean that you don’t have too many clothes or jewelries for me to take? When did I take your things? They should feel disgusted the time they know about your attitude.”

“Dou Weir! What evidence do you have that I took your things? You are smearing my image. I could sue you.” Hu Jing puts down her things and she is too furious.

Dou Weir’s patience is going down, she pushes her. “If you want to sue me, then do it. Let’s see who they would catch.”

Hu Jing doesn’t think that Dou Weir will push her, she retreats two steps and she falls to the floor. The time she wants to respond, the door is closed.

Dou Weir also kicks the shopping bags outside the door.

The householder next door just comes home. Looking at Hu Jing’s miserable state, he examines her. Hu Jing glares back. “What are you looking at?”

Hu Jing is so furious, she kicks the door. She swears.

The time her phone rings, she has kicked the door several time.

“What are you doing?”

“Have you met Dou Weir?”
