81 The Banquet 2 (1/2)

Jiang Mingyue glanced at her surrounding. It was nighttime, and she stood at the pavilion, waiting for her husband. Her lips curved into a smile as Mingyue heard the familiar footsteps. She turned around and met with Yang Yun's gentle and doting gaze.

”You're here early,” Yang Yun approached Mingyue and grabbed both her hand. A frown appeared on his face when he felt her cold hands. ”I know that you're staying in the palace to look after the princess, but please take care of yourself, too when I can't be by your side.”

Mingyue laughed. ”I know. It's just that,” she paused and lowered her gaze. ”I miss you. So I came over a bit earlier.”

Yang Yun chuckled at Mingyue's words. He pulled her towards his embrace and let her head rested on his chest. His grip on her hands tightened as he tried to keep her warm. ”I miss you too,” Yang Yun said with a sigh. ”I should have come over earlier.”

Mingyue stayed in her husband's arm for a while and suddenly giggled.

”What is it?” Yang Yun asked. He pulled away to look at Mingyue's face.

”Sneaking to meet you at night like this, don't you feel like we're having an affair?”

Yang Yun's face darkened. He raised his hand and flicked Mingyue on her forehead. ”What affair? We're married.”

Mingyue pouted as she rubbed her forehead. Yang Yun had controlled his strength as he was afraid to hurt her, so her forehead was not as painful.

”Does it hurt?” Yang Yun started to panic when he saw Mingyue's aggrieved expression. He cursed himself for not being gentler with her and helped Mingyue to rub the painful area.

”It doesn't hurt so much,” Mingyue said after a few seconds passed.

Yang Yun stared at his wife with a sigh. The two of them chatted briefly before Yang Yun untied the bag around his shoulder. ”Grandfather sent a few pills and medicinal herbs for the princess. I also prepared a few snacks for you just in case if you get hungry in the hall later. Everything should be inside this bag.”
