84 Spring Hunt 2 (1/2)
The Empress visited the Crown Princess' tent after dinner and retreated once she saw that the princess was alright after hours of traveling. Princess Lingchen convinced Mingyue a few times that she will be alright with Ying Yi looking after her, only then that Mingyue agreed to step out of the princess' quarters to find her husband.
It was dark outside. The security around the imperial family's camp was tight. There were a few soldiers on guard duty patrolling around the camp area. General Jiang Xiao Xian was among them.
”Mingyue,” Jiang Xiao Xian greeted as she walked around the camp area. He glanced towards the princess' camp and frowned. ”How is Her Highness?”
”She's resting,” Mingyue answered in a low voice. ”Her condition improved a lot with grandfather's new prescription.”
”Will she be joining the Spring Hunt tomorrow?”
”She is good enough to join the Spring Hunt tomorrow. I will escort her during the spring hunt and make sure she will be alright,” Mingyue said. ”If she did not receive any stimulation, the poison in her body should stay dormant for a while.”
Jiang Xiao Xian nodded and sighed. In the end, they will have to find the antidote to the poison or else; the poison in the princess' body will remain a threat to her life. He could only hope that Jiang Xiao Tian's would find more information on the herbs they're looking for this time. Although his brother refused to say what did the Emperor asked him to do, Xiao Xian could guess that one of his mission was to find the herbs to cure the princess.
The young general looked at his sister, and only then did he saw the way she dressed. ”It's late. Where are you going?”
”Right,” Mingyue smiled. ”Have you seen Yang Yun?”
Xiao Xian frowned. If Mingyue were unmarried, he would ask her to stay in camp. However, Mingyue was now married to Yang Yun. He could not stop them from their meeting. He also knew how Mingyue had spent her time apart with Yang Yun since their wedding.
”He should be at the west entrance with the other guys,” Jiang Xiao Xian said. He lifted his hand and patted Mingyue's head. ”Don't stay up too late. You still have to escort the princess tomorrow.”
