125 Bamboo Emblem (1/2)

Prince Lu Wei exited the restaurant feeling bemused by what was happening earlier. The Prince could not grasp what Princess Lingchen was planning until the end of their meeting. In the end, they departed on their way without him giving his final answer.

The Princess had given him a week to think over her proposal.

There must be something wrong with the Crown Princess of Da Cheng. To think that a princess would mention marriage to him casually and had proposed to him! Prince Lu Wei believed that the situation was absurd.

However, he did not think that the Princess would have such personality. She would instead take a risk and let her enemies know that she was not eligible to rule than to put her country in war.

The first time he met the princess in the market, he had thought that Princess Lingchen was someone pretty without much personality. Prince Lu Wei had thought that once the princess inherited the throne, she will act as the puppet for the ministers.

Isn't that was why the Emperor had invited the princes to choose one of them as a husband? Because the Emperor did not think that his daughter will be strong enough to rule? If that was not the case, then why didn't they choose the son of the noble-born to marry the princess?

It looked like Prince Lu Wei had a lot to investigate.

After a short stroll in the market to clear his mind, Prince Lu Wei returned to the guest house. A servant quickly greeted him and notify that he had received a summon from the Emperor of Da Cheng to enter the palace tomorrow.

Prince Lu Wei felt the corner of his mouth twitched.

Didn't the Princess say that she will give him a week to think over her suggestion? Why would the Emperor summon him?

With a complicated mind, Prince Lu Wei entered his room with the official decree from the palace. He placed the decree on his study and did a double-take. There was something on the table, a rolled paper, just between the books.

Prince Lu Wei swept the books away and took the rolled paper. Upon close examination, he saw a pattern stamped on the center of it — a bamboo emblem.

His heartbeat escalated. Prince Lu Wei rushed out of his room and stopped one of the servants who was in charge of his room.
