165 Her Heart Ached (1/2)
Lin Mingyue walked out of the room with an empty mug in her hand. She headed to the pantry to wash the mug and headed out. After a glance at her wristwatch, she decided to head to the canteen for a quick bite.
Lunch hours have passed, and yet, she has not eaten anything. Mingyue had been busy since the morning with checkups and rounds. Just as she thought that she could have a quick break, Professor Gu had called her in into his office to discuss her papers. After doing some alteration, Mingyue realized that she had not eaten yet.
”Doctor Lin,” a young nurse called Nurse Tang stopped her. ”Are you going to lunch?”
Mingyue nodded. ”Un. What are they cooking today?”
The young nurse thought for a whole before she answered, ”The fish dishes are pretty good today. Be sure to try them, Doctor Lin.”
”I will.” Mingyue thanked the Nurse Tang and headed out. Just as she walked passed the door, the paramedics rushed in with a stretcher. Mingyue stopped abruptly to let the paramedics move. She glanced at the person on the stretcher and saw that a man dressed in all black was wheeled in. From her position, she could only see his side profile. At that moment, her heart skipped a beat.
”Lin Mingyue?”
She turned around and was surprised to see Xue Yi Ming behind her. ”Brother Xue. What are you doing here?” she gave him a look over and noticed that his body was full of blood. ”What happened to you?”

Xue Yi Ming looked at his hands. ”They're not mine. I had an accident. I hit someone.”
Mingyue's eyes widened. ”You hit someone?”
Xue Yi Ming shook his head. ”I don't know. I was driving, and he appeared out of nowhere. I didn't have time to brake or steer away. The person that they just brought in, can you go and check on him? He had a serious injury around his stomach area.”
Lin Mingyue turned around and watched the door that led to the emergency room shut. When she looked at Xue Yi Ming again, she could see that he was anxious.
”I'll go and check on him,” Mingyue said.
”Please. You have to save him. I'll pay for whatever expense.”
Mingyue nodded. ”I'll do my best. But Brother Xue. You should go and clean up first and settle his admission and expense. If there's anything, I'll let you know.”
Before Xue Yi Ming could reply, Mingyue had dashed towards the emergency room. Xue Yi Ming cursed again. He was about to run his hands through his hair when he noticed that it was full of the man's blood.
…
When Mingyue entered the room, a doctor and a few nurses have surrounded the patients. Looking at their reaction, Lin Mingyue could tell that the man's condition was quite severe.
